Hey pals,

 I went with Mira to the vet yesterday. Unfortunately shes still not fully recovered. She will need a another 2 weeks of medication, which means shes on medication for 6 weeks then. :-( I really wish she will get better soon. Her vet is optimistic, she said we will get through this, which helps a lot. But still, it makes me sad to see Mira sick like that. I was so looking forward to take her trick and treating, but eventually we have to stay home and have a little spooky party at home. We will make the best of it! :-)

Just wanted to let you know, that I might be not that active on MDS in the next weeks. Pebbles mommy is visiting me and my mom from Germany. We are so happy and of course want to spend lots of time with her! So, have a great Halloween! I´ll keep you updated about my vet visit on monday!

Hello pals,

just got back from the vet.  Unfortunately Mira´s infection is not better yet and she has to take her medication for two more weeks. Then we´ll have another check up. She´s got an even bigger "lamp shade" now, to make sure she cannot lick the infected areas. Of course, she hates it! I will do my best to comfort her and spoil her rotten!!! ;-) Mommy loves her little sweetheart!

 Btw, Mira sends her love to all her pals!!!

Hey Pals!

Mira is now at the end of her  1st week of medication. So far shes doing well with it. I was worried it would effect her more, but she is a happy girl most of the time. Although she doesnt really like the "lamp shade" !

This week we have another vet visit. Hopefully she has already improved her immune system and all the nasty parasites have died!

We´ll see!

Hey friends!

My poor little Mira is sick. We went to the vet 3 days ago, because of a bold spot on her leg. It turned out to be a parasite infection caused by mange. Now shes on antibiotics and Ivermectin. She also has to take baths two times a week with a special shampoo.

Shes not in pain, just a bit more stressed than usual.The vet said it could take 6 to 8 weeks until shes fully recovered. I just hope she will feel better soon, so that we can go to the dogpark to play with her friends again.

In may 2009 I am planning  a trip to germany to visit my family. I'm really looking forward to it, although I am really concerned about taking Mira with me. It is a very long flight, 9 hours straight, plus the waiting periods.

I seriously considered to leave Mira at a dog hotel for those 2 weeks, because, unfortunately, family couldn't take her. But I'm very nervous about this, because Mira is  not used to be seperated from me more than a  few hours. When we adopted her, she was already left behind once and I don't want her to go through this another time. When we first got her she wouldn't eat if I wasn't  around and that makes me worry.

I also found out, that she would need several papers and health certificates to go on the flight.

Maybe somebody already has expiriences to fly with dogs and can give me some tips and information about it.
