Oh my lordy, DOGS!

Okay, well, my owner Brittany and I thought that it'd be a good idea to visit our local dog park, right? She'd be there plenty of times before she got me from the airport and after one year, she wanted to show me what it was like. So, she brought her sister's little chihuahua with her and got in the car with her sister's boyfriend (aka. my ride to get there since I can't drive.) and they drove there. The whole time there, I was sitting on her lap looking contently out of the window.

Finally, it arrived. There was a huge Balto statue in the front of it and the whole place smelled of different breeds of dogs. I jumped out of the car happily and began to walk in the entrance. The moment I got inside, I finally saw how many dogs where there! About ten, and all bigger then me. I began to shake and my owner let the leash off of me, thinking that it would just scared me more if a dog came up to sniff me and I tried to pull back.

So there I stood, shaking slightly because of nervousness and leaning on Brittany's leg. She smiled as a Basenji came up to us and playfully bounced around me. I like him a little bit, he was only a tiny bit bigger then I was! The moment he left, a large German Shorthaired Pointer waltzed up to me with his head held high and his features in a dominate state. I backed off and tapped Brittany's leg with my foot, then started to run. Obviously, the GSPs instincts had taken over and he took off in top speed, snarling fiercly and wanting to EAT me.

I started to make this horrible screaming sound that sounded like I was dying, even though I was too fast for the larger dog. My owner was terrified and tried chasing after the GSP, but she's too slow. The little girl that really like me and owned the Basenji started to cry and lean into her mom's leg, sobbing.

Then, almost the entire pack of dogs at the dog park looked towards me being chased and decided to join in! How mean! There I was, scared to death with about ten dogs behind me. The only times I ever got caught by them was when I ran into a fence and started making that awful shreiking-yelping sound and was forced to jump over the pack and start running again.

After about 20 minutes, most of the dogs had either given up and layed down, caught by their owners, or slowed considerably. I was in a large lead and heading for Brittany, still yelping. I leaped into her arms and she hugged me tight. The German Shorthaired Pointer was still on me, however, and tried to jump up and bite me. But my loyal owner kneed him in the face. He backed off and was caught by his owner who said it was fine that she kneed him, afterall he did try and EAT me. The little girl that liked Maxie stopped crying and Brittany let her hold my shaking body.

Finally, the chase was over and Brittany vowed never to take me there again. Ever. We went back into the car and drove home. Then, me and Brittany went into our 4 acre backyard and played on the agility course that she made. This usually calms my nerves and makes her calm too. And that's my story of how I got chased by ten dogs the other day. Whew.

Whew!  Good thing you're fast!  Have your Mommy check out if there are any other dog parks near you that might have a separation between the little dogs and the big dogs.  Some of them do that.  If you wanna, cuz if you liked the dog park, then that would probably be a better idea.
