My Blog
sorry haven't posted...
haven't posted in a while, sorry, it's been busy with work and school. the pups are great, I noticed they are beginning to show their age lately. On the heels of two family members losing their pups, it reminded me to be thankful for the years you have with your pups. I hope everyone is GREAT. sniffs, barks and growls from my crew to yours. mback from hawaii
So I boarded the pups for the FIRST TIME EVER!! yes that's right I have not had a vacation in over 6 years. When I dropped them off the place was nice, but seemed very automated. this is their busy season so I was just a customer. As I said we they were sooo nice but they wisked my pups off so fast I couldn't say goodbye before it was time to go, i came to regret this circumstance. I was quite upset about leaving them behind, I admit I cried, especially the first night when it got cold, I thought "who's gonna snuggle with them?" So I tried to block it out of my mind hoping they were in good hands, as I said I've never boarded them EVER, so I was worried and frankly very NEW at this. My constant companions have literally been by my side everyday for over 6 years. So I got on the plane hoping they were okay. of course arrived at my destination with many, many things to think about. hotel, rental car, connecting flights, it was a whirlwind. I slept like a rock, then i woke up and..... no doggies...the first morning without my pups. I was quite lost. I kept wanting to put my hand out for a lick, sniff or brush of their fur. NADA. I kept myself busy with shopping and things. Comforted only by the fact that I had taken the pups to the kennel earlier in the week and let them play. By doing this I was hoping they would realize that it was a place to play and not that I was leaving them behind. I had two major fears. Foster, who is a rescue, had been abandoned, I didn't want him to think I was do he same. And Laela who has never been left alone. I feared she might panic. But I kept thinking "they have eachother". so....
Like a new parent off at dinner for the first time alone, I had to call the kennel. Again they were very busy. Kind, but busy. They told me that the "Aussies are GREAT" , "they are ruling this place", "they are having a great time". Well okay, I said, then I hung up and wondered " are they having such a great time that they may not miss me? " .....I couldn't sleep that night.....(stay tuned for the rest of the story )
SMOKE, WIND AND FIRE - OH MY!!!!
OK, LIKE, SO, LIKE, EVERYTHING, LIKE, IS, LIKE, ON FIRE, LIKE TOTALLY!!!
Southern California is a-blaze. So far my little town has been the last to burn and we only had voluntary evacuations just a couple miles north of here. The pups had reservations at the kennel near Dad's work (12 miles from the house). We luckily didn't need it but we sure did load the car up with some stuff just in case. It's amazing when you have to look at everything in your home and decide "Okay, what can't I live without?", ironically for me it was pictures, jewelry, ipod, laptop and Dogs (not in that order). I literally didn't load up anything else. sobering moment for me. At any rate all is well and so far no fires, just a lot of smoke and wind damage to the house. the pups are sneezy and sleeping a lot (from the stress) but overall everyone is in good shape. thanks for reading!

I have been heavily involved in my Prius Club here in Los Angeles. also just started back to school all while working fulltime plus. crazy around here. make sure to check out our latest hiking trip on my youtube page. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxuFBk5p2ssNew Video
The pups just love their "toy". The tire biter has been replaced several times. No other toy in the world has had so much mileage. In fact the Tire biter is the only toy that seems to survive for any period of time at all. All others are shredded and left in the yard. The tire biter is never left the elements. My pups love the tire biter. (check the new video) Thank you! the inventor of the Tire biter!Snap Fish Posters
I ordered some great posters from Snapfish. com tonight. Collage posters with pics of the pups. The posters are any size you want and only around $15. I ordered several. I can't wait til they come, i was able to collage my favorite pics of my pups on one poster. Now to find a frame for the poster after it comes, hmmmm....Hiking Video
I thought I would post a link for our hiking trip. enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKVaH9jvOEYIf only I had a camera....
Well last evening I thought I would be industrious and cook. Later that night while trying to sleep I hear noise in the kitchen. I sneak ever-so-quietly through the bathroom and swing open the door leading to the kitchen, at the same time I throw the light switch to see which of my lovelies was getting into trouble. As the light came on.....let me paint a picture. Laela on her bellie with her back towards me and her head buried in the garbage bag. She turned to look at me over her right shoulder with 1/2 a pork chop literally hanging out of the right side of her mouth. Stunned, she froze (without dropping the chop I might add)..........She was busted!!! For many years now I've suspected Foster for these indiscretions. After all this time the culprit was Laela. It's always the women that start the trouble, I should have known ;) . If only I had a camera, the image of that "OH SH!T - look"
on her face is etched in my mind forever, I can't help but to laugh. (don't worry I checked for the bones, thank god I caught her early into her feast)
