Not so good news :(

Ok this is Shreks mommy, i have some sad news about my lil man Shrek. I took him to the vet yesterday and thought everything went ok until 4pm today i got a phonecall from the vet. Shrek has hookwarm, hearwarm, and a failing liver. Needless today i broke down crying and had to rush to the vet and pick up meds. Tomorrow is Shreks BIRTHDAY and he will be 5 and he has to be at the vets most of the day for more testing and X-Rays. I am very thankful I have my family all donated money for all this vet work i am having done to make sure Shrek gets EVERYTHING done that needs to be done.  I am sure it will have agreat outcome so please tonight and tomorrow just think about our little Shrek and just pray for him. He is very loved and such a joy to have in my life. I am going to fight with everything i have to make sure my little boy gets the best of the best. I will never let him go and will be by his side throw all this.

Thank you all, All of our friends we have made on here

Your liver issue could be just that you have worms THAT bad.  We recue a puppy once who actually had worms so bad that it did liver damage so bad that he ended up having seizures. Once the worms were treated and gone, the liver healed itself and the seizures stopped.

Good Luck with your treatments-

We will definitely keep our paw crossed and send up a special prayer for you and Shrek.

Zen Sheltie and Collie Hugs for Shrek's Mommy and Shrek.  We hope that the liver issue isn't as serious as it sounds, worms treatment can be exhausting but as long as Shrek is kept quietly inactive, it should be okay.  Pawrayers to the big doG that Shrek gets better soon.

Hey Shrek ~ were you not on heartworm preventative? We are on Interceptor. Both Mack & Chloe endured and survived HW treatment. Yes, it is dangerous, but since you are so young, you should pull thru fine.

Hookworm is no biggy. Ok, your liver...that concerns us. We are sending you our warmest wishes. Tell your mom to stay calm, gather info and stay positive. (((hugs))) Tina & the AusSiebelts
