Originally, my 6 year old daughter wanted a toy dog (Maltipoo, Yorkie, etc.) I suggested we rescue a dog that really needs a home as opposed to buy one that will be scooped up. She was dead set on only having a female dog, she in no way wanted a boy dog! We went to the Brooklyn ACC on Linden Blvd. The moment she saw Lucas she said she had to have that dog. We weren't even fully in the door yet and she spotted him. We walked over to the cage and saw that Lucas was a boy. She didn't care she said she wanted to take him home. Lucas has been nothing but a joy. He is loyal, and gentle with all of us, but even more with our daughter. When we walk him, he tends to tug a little, but when she walks him, he is cautious and gentle. He lays by our bed and even though his mix breed isn't made for it, he is an amazing guard dog. He is an absolute gem!!! We were hesitent to allow a dog into our home, but I never could have imagined finding a dog like Lucas. You go boy!!!!!!
