My Blog Entry
Now home from the Vet's
Todays' vet tush procedure went very well. We're hoping it does the job it's supposed to do. I had a twighlight sedative for the gland flush and pack (both of 'em). I don't remember anything except waking up and feeling very, very sleepy. Mom says they gave me a wake up shot and a mild sedative, so it's like I had a few drinks. When I got home, I slowly walked out onto my deck and just knda stood there looking at all the birds and squirrels trying their best to get me to chase 'em. Instead, I got very sleepy and wobbly on my feet, like I was in some kind of trance. I couldn't move at all! So, Mom told me to go to my bed (I think that's what she said), but when I got into my crate I couldn't lie down. I just stood there with my eyes closed. So, Mom took me upstairs and let me lie down on her bed. Again, I just stood there in a daze. So she gently pushed me down (I think I heard her say, "Pogo, down!"). Anyway, the last I remember is Mom rubbing my ear gently and now I'm off to dreamland (zzzzz).
Normally I luv going to the Vet, as they are only a few houses away from our house. But, the last few visits weren't any fun at all! When Mom took me on leash this morning, and right after the door to the Vet closed, I realized where I was and did not want to be here! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! They hurt me. So, I started gagging with the dry heaves at once. No sympathy at all. Then I became a mule and wouldn't budge to the holding area. (I'm a Drama Queen, remember). They got me there anyway, even though Mom said I can't have any treats which makes me feel a little better, 'cause of the anasthetic. Once settled into a very large crate, I managed to sleep until it was my turn, but I do remember my dog pal Greta coming into the hospital with her crazy yelling non-stop screams (lasts for 10+ minutes) and so I did my usual sing song howl reserved just for when Greta behaves this way. She always told me to hate going to the vet. I'm beginning to believe her, but maybe mext time I'll get some treats for being such a good girl. And, I really was a good girl afterall and it didn't hurt me a bit!

We hope you are feeling better. Us Diva's know who much we hate the Vets, but in the end, sort-of-speak, we know it's a good thing and we will eventually feel better.

I hope you're feeling better now! What an experience... it's so confusing, I don't get why sometimes the vet is good, and sometimes they're just a pain in the butt!! (sorry- that's not very punny!)

We hope the procedure solves the problem, and that you will soon be back to normal. We know just what you mean about the mule routine - we do it too sometimes and believe it or not when one of us sets our mind to it, we can be very hard to budge. Of course, then we just get scooped up and carried.
We do not think it is fair that you didn't get any treats for being such a good girl. When you are feeling better we bet your mom gives you lots and lots of treats.
