My name is Emmalou and I'm the big deal in a little package.  When it comes to trouble I can take it.  When it comes to treats I get them.  When it comes to the best position to snuggle next to Mom, yep, I get that too!  I'm her one and only pride and joy!

But, I now have a new brother and an older sister.  Roxie has been around since before my time.  She's smart and beautiful and so sweet to everyone she meets.  I am not.  I don't like people or pets of any kind, except the ones I have to like because Mom says so.  Then there's Siber (pronounced Sigh-Bear).  We just got him yesterday and he's such a baby!  He runs and prances and bounces and plays and whimpers and does everything that I used to do when I was a puppy.  He chases anything that moves fast and I heard a rumor that he even went into the pool just now!  One of the human girls said his back feet touch the bottom of the pool.  Wow!  I knew he was big, but still!

I'm practicing to be a Diva, so I got a cute special sticker to post.  Thanks Astrid!

Hello!  Oh, hi!  How are you?!  I'm so doggone EXCITED to see you!  Wanna go run?  Play?  Chase our shadows or tails?  Have you seen my hyper pills?  I feel like I need MORE!  LOL!

Yes, this is Roxie.  I'm a Border Collie Extraordinare!!!  At least my Mom thinks so!  She says I'm the SMARTEST DOG IN THE WORLD, so I guess she likes me a lot, huh?  I'm so friendly and loving and playful, even at the advanced age of 8!  Sometimes I don't get up as fast as I used to, but once I get moving I can run with the best of them!  I don't get to go to the BarkParks anymore because the younger dogs kept running into me and it HURT a lot!  Now I just play with all of the groom dogs that come visit Mom.  She makes us all look so beautiful and afterwards we get to run and play in the backyard!  Mom used to groom professionally with a major petstore chain, but they lacked the personal care and high standards that Mom insists on, so she tried to retire and find a different field to work in, but her favorite doggies only want her to groom them!  I don't blame them!  She's so gentle, and there's one, named Sterling, who sometimes will bite, but it's only because he gets scared when you trim his nails.  So Mom will put me next to him and I "talk" to him and she can trim his nails.  I'm Mom's big helper.  I've babysat the kids (they are young teens now), I've put our cats back in the house and helped to chase off the other cats that are mean to my cats, I've trained for agility, sign language, clicker training, advanced obedience, CGC certified, started on herding, but thought I'd try my luck with horses and I got kicked pretty bad, so then I didn't want to herd anything with hooves again.  I can do anything Mom asks of me, and she's super creative so she can think of asking me tons of stuff to do!  I'm 8 years old and still going strong!  I can sit, dance, fetch, heel (although she calls it "stay with", kiss, hug, table, down, off, up, beg, hi-5, and overall look pretty pathetic for an extra pat or two..  Or until you remember that you are petting me!

Mom was thinking of training me for therapy work with the young kids in the hospital.  I think that would be so much fun, but going in an elevator makes me very nervous and she thinks I need to just relax and enjoy my retirement age..  So, instead I'm finally learning how to swim!  That's the scariest thing in the world!!!  8 years of keeping totally clear of the pool, and now it's so hot and she's offering me a beautiful HOT DOG if I just stand on the steps!  She's hoping that I can learn to not be so afraid of the water, and then she'll take me to the beach to play with some other doggie friends, but I don't know if I can learn to not be afraid of the water..

Well, please stop by and say hi!  Emma only let me use the computer for a moment, and I have to go check on everyone again.  Every hour on the hour I go check on my people and pets and make sure they are all accounted for!
