When I came to the SPCA, my nickname was the "Stinky Doggie from the woods".  I'd been living in the woods for about 8 months outside a woman's mobile home where I'd been dumped.  She fed me but never took me in.  I lived and slept outside until I was brought to the shelter. 

It was a tough first year in my new home.  I was very afraid of people, especially men, and afraid of just about everything - it was all so new to me!!  But now I'm settled in and enjoying life!  I love to play with my big brother Tanner, and love going to the doggy park!!  Life is great!

And you thought only cats had nine lives!!

This beautiful girl was hours from being euthanized when she was rescued from a high kill shelter.  Then, only three days later almost died due to complications of a neglectful owner.  Due to a severe case of hookworm, she was severely anemic and went into seizures. She was taken to a great vet who said she shouldn't even be alive, but since she was such a fighter, he was going to do everything possible to make her better.  And thanks to him, she is happy, heathly and living life to the fullest.

UPDATE 8/2/08:  Molly's crit levels are rising nicely and it looks like Molly may have found her forever home!  Her prospective Mommy says she can't take her until she moves into her house at the beginning of September - which is perfect because we need to get her crit levels up a little more before she can be spayed.  She sounds like she's going to be a wonderful mommy, too.  She recently lost her Golden to cancer and has a big spot in her heart ready to love this great little girl.

UPDATE 8/23/08:  Molly has gone to her forever home and things are working out perfectly!  Molly couldn't be happier and her mom just loves her to pieces!  It is a match made in heaven!

If you have room in your heart and home, you're not set on a purebred, I would strongly urge you to consider adoption from a shelter or rescue group.  Shelters and rescues have many wonderful dogs at a cost much less than you would pay from a breeder.  Plus they are fully vetted and spayed/neutered.  Many even have trainers working in-house to train the dogs prior to adoption.  And whatever you do, please, please, please stay away from pet stores and backyard breeders.
