After the loss of our beloved bullmastiff Gussy, once we were ready to find another dog we knew what breed we wanted, a bullmastiff. A puppy was to much to handle, so we decided to adpot. We searched local shelters, and rescue websites for months until we found Dominic on the American Bullmastiff Association website. He was the dog we'd been looking for. We snatched him up as soon as possible.

We were infromed his previous owners had to relocate because of work, and couldn't take Dominic and his sister with them considering they're size. After looking on Dominic record's after we adopted him we discovered he'd been kenneled a lot mostly because of his parent's work. I think his parents always leaving him depressed him, and also being in a new home and everything was very overwelming for him. So when we first got him he was very skittish. Everytime we'd leave he'd pee all over the house, we think because he'd always think we were leaving him like his old owners always did.

After a few months we started to get to know him. How he loved food so much, espeically healthy treats like veggies which we thought was very strange. How his favorite things were dinner, walks, and most of all cuddling with the ones he loves and falling asleep on us, and drooling and snoring while he slept. He he was very mischeivios, an escape artist who could sneak off in the blink of an eye to go on adventures through our neightborhood. How he is so sweet, so affectionate, and so gentle even with small children. And how he has terrible gas.

Now almost a year after we adopted him, he is currently two, turning three in September. He's ajusted to his new home, and I know he knows we'll never leave him.

I love him with all my heart, as does everyone who meets him. He's everything I could ask for in a dog and more.
