Hey...my name is Jake!  I'm looking for friends who like to play at the park.  My mom says I'm a playful pup even though I just had my 3rd birthday.  I like to chase and sniff and run around.  My favorite toy is anything that squeaks...and the neighbor's cat.  The cat is my best friend (even though he doesn't think so). 

I love my mom because she says I am her "little love".  She rescued me June 29, 2005.  Mom says she saw me and knew I had to come home with her because I was part of her heart.  I was on my "Third Strike".    I was neglected, but rescued when I was just a tiny little guy.  Then I was adopted my an older gentleman but he got sick and said I was too much to handle and barked all the time.  When my mom told the nice people at the shelter she was taking me home, they warned her.  But my mom said she knew I was suppose to be with her, that's why all that stuff happened.  It makes mom sad to wonder how I felt, but I hardly ever think about that...I love my mom!!!

I hardly ever bark...except when the mail carrier comes.  My mom was so proud of me when she took me to Puppy Kindergarten!  The instructor said I was very good.  I like to play, but I'm pretty gentle.  I help jump into the tub when it's my bath time (my mom thinks it's because I love all the attention I get).  I love to lay in the sun and take naps on a nice day.  My grandma loves me bunches and my grandpa takes me for walks sometimes.   They watch me when my mom is at work, she says they spoil me.  My aunties think I am pretty special too.  My mom says I am the best! 

I like to shake paws and roll over.  Pet me on the head and I am your friend for life.
