Pongo's hot and I'm not!

I'll be talking about myself for today, don't worry Pongo is still with me, alive and kicking.  As I'm writing this blog, he's taking his afternoon nap (which extends till evening he..he..he..).

For the past months I was really worried about my health condition. Ten years ago, I was diagnosed having "goiter" (a thyroid condition). I was on treatment for 2 years, then my doctor advised me that my thyroid is back to normal and I can stop taking the meds. After 5 years it recurred and I had to be on medications again.

Year 2006, after I resigned from work, I decided  to stop going to my doctor and stop the meds for the sole reason that I was so tired of having this sickness (going thru several tests every month or twice a month, taking meds) the whole thing. It seems I'm not getting better, and I just lost my patience to it.

It's only last year, that I decided to seek treatment  again, and this time my condition is much worst than before. After several tests, my thyroid was categorized as toxic. I was always feeling tired, had falling hair and gaining weight. I was thinking, I really made a bad decision of not getting treated. For months, my condition hasn't improved, that's when my doctor told me that I have to get the radiation treatment,  I decided not to take the treatment right away and ask for an extention that if my condition hasn't improved in a year, then that's the time that I will undergo treatment.

Last September, I had my regular blood test, when I was getting the result, I kept on praying silently hoping that everything will be fine. When I got it, lo and behold, I can't believe what I'm seeing, my blood tests results were back to normal. As much as I want to rejoice and jump for joy on that minute, I still have to see my doctor to interpret it.  I visited my doctor last thursday, she was also surprise to see the results and was very happy that I got back to normal again, but she's not discounting the fact that maybe my thyroid's normal because of the heavy medications.

I will be seeing my doctor again this November and she's hoping that by that time she can reduce the dosage of my medications and be normal for good. I'm just hoping and praying (I hope you can also include me in your prayers tooSmile).
