Pongo sneaked out

last sunday, early  morning, when Typhoon "Frank" was bashing Manila, I was awaken by loud barks coming from our neighbor's dog. I went down and I saw Pongo in our doorsteps, soaking wet. I saw my neighbor near our gate and was told that she saw Pongo outside in the rain infront of their house.  He might have sneaked out of the house when my brother arrived and opened the gate to park his car.  Pongo knew how to get home, maybe he tried to get in  but the gate was locked,  at that time, we are still sleeping, maybe that's  when he saw our neighbor outside and recognized her and  let him in to our other gate adjacent to our neighbor's house. It''s a good thing that no one snatched him away or tried to hurt him while he was outside in the rain for more that 2 hours, luckily, he didn't get sick, but one thing for sure, Pongo was shaking from that horrifying experience and I guess he will never try to sneak out again, I hope so.
