Cain was abandoned at our shelter with a note. He is good with kids but is very strong. Children over 12 would be very best. He is good with small dogs but not with bigger dogs (his size or larger).

Hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My name is "Smiley" because I have the biggest smile, although foster Mom and Dad have been calling me "Chase" because that's my favorite game to play with the other dogs. IF THEY WOULD JUST CALL ME ONE NAME IT WOULD HELP. Right now, I am staying with 4 other dogs and two cats and I get along with everyone very well. I'M EVERYONE'S PAL I am about a year old, THAT'S ABOUT SEVEN HUMAN YEARS, and all up to date on my shots. I am crate trained and my foster Mom says I am very smart. I TOLD HER I WAS SMART WHEN WE FIRST MET BUT SHE DIDN'T BELIEVE ME. I learned how to stop jumping up and how to sit last week. I BETTER START GETTING PAID FOR ALL THE TRICKS I'VE LEARNED. This week we are working on "lie down" but I just love to have my belly rubbed, so I always roll over on my back when its time to lay down. AND IF YOU HAVE A BIG COMFY COUCH, WELL THAT WOULD GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Philippa has an air of majesty about her that leaves one gaping at her beauty and quiet dignity. Seemingly descended from a royal bloodline, this girl is almost pure white, except for the faint dapples of light brown which dot her back. Picked up roaming the streets of Berkeley, Philippa was light grey at first, and slightly frightened in her new surroundings. It wasn't until after we gave her a bath that we discovered a gorgeous white coat lay underneath the grime of the city streets. Not only is Philippa a striking beauty, but she has one of the most cuddly, affectionate personalities we have come across. When you go into her kennel, she doesn't try to leave, as most other dogs do, but instead welcomes you into her space with hugs around the waist, pleased that she will get some one-on-one attention from her human companion-- for Philippa is a love-bug if we ever saw one! She will bury herself into you, any which way she can, in order to get as close to you as possible. On walks, Philippa walks proudly down the park path, head held high, looking about her vigilantly. She is interested in other dogs, and seems to want to play with the ones her size. However, the small ones probably resemble prey to her, so it would be best for Philippa to be in a home without small dogs or cats.
