Pete was a lost dog. He came up to the house across the street dragging a big log chain which got wrapped around a bush. We recognized him at once as a Pitbull so we were very careful about approaching him. He seemed to be nothing but a playful dog just wanting love. We unwrapped the chain form the bush, put him into the fenced in back yard and fed and played with him while we looked for his owner. There was a collar around his neck with a phone number on it but after many tries, no one answered the phone. We ran an add in the newspaper and put up posters in the local stores. After several weeks, no one called about him. We had to make a decision; keep him or take him to an animal shelter. We felt that if we took him to a shelter he would be put down just because he was a Pitbull. He was such a good dog he didn't deserve that so we decided to keep him. We have never been sorry for that decision.
We took him to a Vet and they thought he was about 2 years old. He was given all shots and tested for everythng. He had heartworms so he was treated. He was neutered after he recovered from the heart worm treatment. We bought him an outdoor kennel, an indoor bed and food bowl and moved him to our house. We had to teach him to leave our 4 old cats alone but he already knew basic commands. He has been a memeber of our family since that time.

My mom is glad you like your blanket. But your mom did all the hard work. Tell your mom I really like my blanket too. I like to hide under mine. Maybe you should try it for the next thunderstorm we have. I always sleep right through them!!!

Hi ya Pete! How about that terrible thunderstorm we had yesterday? I bet you buried yourself under your Mom's legs for protection. You poor baby. My mom brough home a bunch of yucky veggies from the farmer's market. Why can't she bring any treats for me??? My mom always has a good time going there with your mom. Wish they'd take us! I begged to go but it didn't work.

The vet put me on a very strict diet. No chicken for a while... but I wuv chicken
. She says Mama has to feed me something called dog food...Ewww... I don't think I like it.
Mama put it in the bowl last night. Guess what? It is still in the bowl. That stuff is not very pretty. If I hold out long enough I bet Momma will give in and give me my chicken and rice. I wuv chicken and rice. Mama says that dog food is chicken and rice. I am not sure what she is smokin, cause it doesn't look like chicken and rice to me.
I am ready to disco tomorrow. Will you be there?
Mama made me a very cute disco dress. I can't wait to wear it. Maybe there will be treats there. I will sneak some when Mama isn't looking. Have a great day Pete.

Sorry you had to go through a thunderstorm all by yourself,, well i mean without any superior to human canine peers. LOL When it thunders, people cant help much if your scared! Hang in there Pete!
