My name is Juneau and I'm a Mini American Eskimo. In November 2007 I found my mommy Erika. She was so sweet to rescue me from a shelter. It was love at first sight. They don't know my exact birthday so we celebrated it on my mommys birthday. I'm my mommys therapy dog because she was in bed and a wheelchair for 4 years but has now be up for 1 year and 8 months. He doctor told her it would be good to get a dog to help with the therapy and keep her moving. Her first dog she rescued was a sweet Peke but she ended up passing in Oct 2007 from Lung Cancer and CHF. It was the saddest day of her life, but luckily she found me and I helped her through that.I have a sister cat named Sam.She is 6 years and 8 months old and is not use to me yet but we are getting closer (she doesn't like to play like I do). The only thing she does like is I keep eating her food. I can't help it that it is so yummy.

I love going to the doggie park with my mom. It is so much fun to swim I could do it all day long. When I'm not at the park I like to play with my other friends. Chewie (on my pals list) is a toy Aussie, Toby and Leo are mini Scnauzers and then there is Sadie and Macy which are Boxers.

I guess this is enough about me so I willn't right an more.

I volunteered at Abandoned Animal Rescue a couple of days a week. Sassy was brought in with another Peke and we believe they came from a Puppy Mill and when they were done breeding them they dump them. It was perfect timing because I had just seen my doctor and he had suggested I get a dog to help with my therapy and keep me moving and out of bed. So my mom and I went to go look at her and it was love at first sight. Mom never wanted a dog in the house both of her sister had been attack by dogs really bad. She never wanted them hurt but just didn't want them in the house. Well that changed when Sassy came out. She went right up to mom and got on her hind legs for mom to pick her up. And she won moms heart right then and there. She was great from the time we got her. She was about 4 years old (we weren't sure), hardly had any teeth on her bottom half of her mouth but that was okay we us. We went to almost every dog event that I found out about. We got her in March and it was great but in October of 2007 on a Saturday morning she was not breathing all that well so I took her to the vet and they kept her for the day to run test and everything. They put her in an oxygen cage so she could breath better. They never really knew what happen and sent her home later that day on antibotics and steriods. We were so glad she was home. We live on the second floor and I would have to carry her up and down the stairs if we didn't use the elevator. On Wednesday 5 days later it was so nice outside and we had to run erronds so we took Sassy with us so she could get some fresh air and she loved riding in the car. On one of our stops I had all the windows down and got out of the car for 1 min. to tell mom something and I had my driver side door open. When I turned around Sassy was in my seat not breathing. Luckily we were across the street from the vet so I rushed over there. She woke back up and they put her in the oxygen tank again while they looked at her x-ray again and they said the spots they saw on her lungs on Saturday (they thought was an infection) they now believe to be nodles in her lungs and most likely cancerous. She also was going into CHF and was not doing good at all. They said the best thing to do was to put her to sleep. Mom and I where just crying so hard we loved her so much and couldn't do it. They brought her back for us to say goodbye and she passed on her own before they gave her  the injection. She it really was her time. They think she was 8-10 a lot older then we thought.

So that is the story about Sassy. I only had her for 8 months but at least she didn't have to suffer in a cage without help. We were going to wait a while before we got another dog but that didn't last long. It was to quiet and to boring so 2 weeks later we got Juneau. Some people think that was to soon but it was perfect for us.
