Sirius, The God, Dog Star
Sirius is also known colloquially as the “Dog Star”, reflecting its prominence in its constellation, Canis Major (English: Big Dog).
Sirius was revered as the Nile Star, or Star of Isis, by the ancient Egyptians. Its annual appearance just before dawn at the Summer Solstice, June 21, heralded the coming rise of the Nile, upon which Egyptian agriculture depended.
The dog Sirius is one of the watchmen of the Heavens, fixed in one place at the bridge of the Milky Way, keeping guard over the abyss into incarnation. The Dog Star is a symbol of power, will, and steadfastness of purpose, and exemplifies the One who has succeeded in bridging the lower and higher consciousness.

Tessa Uk needs our thoughts and prayers
Dad has been working so much I have not been on the MDS in a few days so I have been in remiss of keeping up with friends. I just read, from a 5 day old blog, that TessaUK is having more health problems.
Please send your thoughts a prayers her way. She has been through so much recently she deserves to feel good!
I am sure her mom, Patricia will also appreciate it as well.

Whew! A sigh of Relief!
I went to the vet this mornning for chemo. My blood is perfect, my heart is perfect, no lumps anywhere, I lost a half a pound ( not so good lol), but I do have some allergy problems again. I feel grrreeat!
I dont have chemo or see the Dr again for 3 weeks! I am a happy dog! Dad was so happy he stopped by Wendy’s and bought me some chicken nuggets!!! ( We always do that anyway, but today was a celebration.) 
If I don’t have a reaction to the Vincristine ( chemo drug) like i have had before, I will be home free for a while. Yippee!
Dad is so relieved. Now all we have to do is get this allergy thing under control, lots of Benydryl, Hydrocortisone spray, and Lidocane creme to stop the tiching and my biting.
Thought you would like to know, I sure am happy!

Frosty Paws Ice Cream
Dad brought me the best treat on these hot days in the south! Frosty Paws Ice Cream!!!! I got the peanut butter flavor! It so cool and refreshing! He had been promising me he would get it for a few weeks now. He finally came thru, YES DAD! He cuts it into pieces while it is hard so I wont get a brain freeze.
He found out about it from the kennel he works at, they have pool partys and after the party everyone gets Doggy Ice Cream! WooHoo! Way to go Dad!

I had another Chemo tuesday
Hi friends!
Well, I ha another chemo tuesday,, good news,, no lumps! I gained another 1/2 lb,, :( Thats almost 5 pounds in 3 weeks! Dad has cut me back a bit more,, but i think its his fault. He is working more now so we dont get to go to the park as much. sunday when we were there he tossed the ball for bout 10 minutes then i had had enough. I went and got the ball and took it back to the truck and sat by the back door. I looked at the truck, then at him,, then back at the truck. He got the message,, i had had enough, i was pooped!
I bet it is the combo of me gaining weight and also dad not taking me to the park as much as he used to, he has been working too much. He is going to see about that getting taken care of ASAP!
Otherwise i feel good and no side effects from this round so far!

Zorro goes to the Rainbow Bridge
Zorro, a 13 year old BIG mixed breed went to the Rainbow Bridge this afternoon. He was a friend of ours. He was old, very arthritic, and in perilous shape. His mom and dad did what they had to do after putting it off for weeks. Another friend of mine was there to help Zorro over the threshold. Think of Zorro tonite, he was a big ole sweet boy!
His mom and dad got him as a small pup from the shelter thinking he would be a midsize dog, but he surprised them,, he grew to way over a hundred pounds and had a fantastic life.
Think of him waiting on mom and dad at the rainbow bridge.

Harry Potter, not a pretty story, but with a point!
Harry Potter is an aquaintance of mine. Harry Potter is a beagle that I met on adoption day at Pet Smart a few months ago.
Dad and I drove up to go shopping for some “Belle Essentials” (LOL, get it? Bare Essentials = Belle Essentials? LOL) I crack myself up sometimes! Anyway, back to the story. That particular Saturday was Pet Adoption Day, DejaVu?? As we walked up to the entrance and got a basket, Dad and I noticed and very happy beagle jumping up on his new moms legs, wagging his tail profusely, and in an all around good mood. The Mom was beaming and reaching down to pet and rub him, whispering reassuring words and calling his new name,
“Harry Potter”.
As we passed, Dad said softly, “You are doing a wonderful thing!” to the lady. It was heart warming except for one chilling detail…..
Harry Potter had been in an accident, a horrible accident. At least that was I thought at the time.
A month later Dad and I were at my Dr.’s office for one of my LOOOONG chemo treatments when Dad noticed a familiar Beagle jumping out of a car. It was Harry Potter! Harry was wagging his tail as he had been the last time Dad saw him. His mom was following doing her best to hold on to the lead. Dad said Hi and asked if they remembered him and me? The Mom did not, but Dad explained about that saturday morning at Pet Smart and she did remember. You see, Harry went to see a special surgeon at the same practice I go to. Dad and the Lady taked for a while and dad got the whole story.
Harry was rescued from a recently busted Pit Bull Fight Training Facility on one of the islands. Harry had been used repeatedly as “bait” to teach the dogs how to kill and maim. Pits have to be taught that as any dog! Harry had a broken hind leg and a missing muzzle. Yes, I said missing muzzle. When he was rescued
his muzzle was hanging by some flesh from his face. He still has his lower jaw. The Dr.’s were not able to reattach his muzzle, but they were able to stabilize him and ward off infection.
His Mom named him Harry Potter because of the legend of Harry Potter. The boy who wouldn’t die.
Harry is as happy as can be, not afraid of people or dogs even after his horrific life. He runs up to everyone wagging and wanting attention. His mom is very devoted to him and determined to give him a good life. Harry and his MOM are some of my HEROs
Now to my round-about point. Some of you know about my challenge to the “Cuteness Battle” . Well, can you imagine Harry on this site? Just his picture popping up with no explanation, just to be compared with another pup? Not fair, my point exactly!
We are still against the comparisons and we have opted out. You can do that by going to your setttings and at the bottom of the form you can uncheck the Battle for Cuteness box.
Harry is a fantastic dog and his mom is courageous for adopting him and facing all the challenges his life has. How many of us would be brave enough to tackle such a situation? I have seen that some of you have adopted the “unadoptable” and been sucessful. My highest respect to all of you and your adoptees. You have a special place in heaven reserved!

Lady Belle is STILL Wild!
Just to let everyone know,, after a shakey response for chemo last week, I have rebounded with a vengence! I am bouncing like a Bumble! ( thats what dad calls me sometimes from the Rudolf Reindeer Christmas show,,, Remember “Bumbles Bounce!!”
We have had a great weekend,we went to see Pete on saturday, i didnt play muchI was busy watching dad to make sure he got what he needed to do done! I have to watch him on those things,
.
I was all snuggly this morning before we got up. I was rolling around on my back snorting and moaning while dad scratched my belly. I LOVE belly rubs! Then I snuggled up close, winked at him, like i always do and planted a big ole loving on his face and ears! WooHoo! I love kisses!
Anyway,, all is well! I dont have another chemo till week after this one, so I can party all week!
