Our contest event, how it went

Well today was the big day. We (hubby, Joj-Gee and me) got all gussied up and went down to the park where the wag-a-tail walk-a-thon was being held and the Polished Pooches modeling contest. There was a gazillion dogs and people there, like wow!! I would love to be able to say that Joj-Gee placed first in the judging contest, but she placed last, Eeeek!!! The “modeling runway” was held on the sidewalk/grass, just inches away from all the dogs and people and Joj-Gee freaked out and froze up. I had to pull and coax her to even walk a few steps. That cost us all our points!! Poor baby, had big time stage fright! This is the dog that is usually straining at her leash to sniff everything and everyone. But there is still a sunny side to this, Joj-Gee received a very cool pet “house” bed. It has a pink roof and it is oh so soft.  It was heavy and stuffed full of all kinds of things for Joj. From leashes and toys, goodies and books, to you name it, it was in there. AWESOME!!!! She also got a $50 gift certificate to Petco and a trophy.  Plus we got all kinds of freebies from the sponsers!  We really made out BIG time!! They also served a very delicous lunch! So all in all it was still a very good first experience for Joj-Gee. We are going to have to work on the stage fright thing.
