My Blog Entry
Vacation
Hello Everyone,
We had a very interesting week off. My Mommy had a week off from her work....so she was with Dad and I all week, and did not have to ever leave us. We started out the week in the car, going to a place Mom calls Maine. We are about 3 1/2 hours from where we were going. It was a long ride. I get to ride in that cool seat, I told you about in an earlier blog. I had to ride in the back, as Mom and Dad sat in the front.
When we got to where we were going, I got to see some of Mom's friends and family. Everyone wanted to say hi to me. We slept in a building, with many many rooms, and mom said while we were there she saw a Yorkie and 3 other dachshunds. The second day, Mom and Dad had a man with a contraption, point it at them and say "Smile". I thought this was very silly, as they know how to smile, and before I knew it I was getting the contraption pointed at me TOO!!!! We all survived the dreaded contraption and off we went, to the destination.
We spent most of our days away, at this place Mom & Dad called a cabin. There were lots, and lots,of big trees....too bad I can't climb them! There was also this thing I could see myself in!!! It was big. I spent hours checking out all the nooks and crannys of the cabin..couple of times I showed up with Mom and Dad, with this thin whispy stuff stuck to my nose. I don't know what cobwebs are, but Mom said I had been into them. Once I was fully convinced that we were all safe in this place, I found a place I could lay, that I could see 2 of the 4 sides of the cabin, outside, so I could keep a look out and protect us all. Mom took a couple of pictures of me on look out that I am sure she will put into the album soon.
The time we were away, we ended up spending a lot of time in the car. There was water coming from the sky, Mom said 7 of the 10 days we were there. So we traveled a lot of Maine. We even traveled over to NH, as Mom and Dad said, and they said something about a trip up a mountain....what ever that is. I do know the car tipped down in back for quite some time, and then later it tipped down in the front. Between the two trips we had alot of noise, with water hitting the outside of the car. They said something about Mount Washington.
During all these car trips, Mom and Dad kept saying how great a traveler I am. I just know I am happiest when I am with them both.
One morning, before the water started falling from the sky, Mom put me in this banana shaped thing, and she had something that looked like a spoon, and kept putting it into the thing I could see myself in. It looked so cool....but I am so short I would hardly see myself. I tried to get where I would see myself, and the next thing I knew I was soaked. I am thankful Mom thought to put me on a saftey cord. I was not detered as I was determined to see myself, I tried once again and found myself completely under water...Mom reeled me in again, and I decided I was not to thrilled to have water up my nose and in my ear
The last full day, before we had to leave, Mom and Dad blew up these things, that looked like big balls with holes in them. They both sat in them, and took turns having me sit on their laps. It was wet, but I was thrilled that I was where I could see myself, finally. That was a lot of fun. I wish we could of had less days with water coming from the sky, so we could of done that more often. I hope we don''t have to wait a long time, to spend that much time together with no work again.
Mom wanted to take me out for more walks in the trees, but she was complaining about something called mosquitos!!!!!! I don't know what her problem was, I could not see anything. I was not very hungry while I was away...and evidently Mom was concerned about me...since I have been home I have eaten every meal right away...she does not seem to understand that I need to eat it from MY bowl, not some human bowl.
And that my friends is my summer vacation essay....LOL. ROTFL (roll on the floor laughing). Sincerely, Zoe and Mom
