When people meet Daisy and hear her story of survival and how I adopted her, they say "she's so lucky!" But the truth is, I'm the lucky one.  She gives me unconditional love and companionship and she even came house trained!  I hope she feels the same love in return.  From what I know of her life before ours, she wasn't loved.

Daisy comes from Bakersfield.  The rescue service says that her owners let her get pregnant.  She gave birth to puppies and at some point they caught mange (sp?).  It's a curable skin disease but her owners didn't want to deal with it.  The city pound was called to pick up her and two of her puppies.  The vet at the pound discovered that the puppies had mange and had them put to sleep.  (It makes me sick to think this happened.)  By some miracle of God, he didn't notice that Daisy had it.  Mutts & Moms Rescue saved her just in time.  They put her picture on Pet Finder and that's where I found her.  Her picture captured my heart. When I picked her up they gave me 3 medications and that was the beginning of our life together.  Today, she's healthy and wonderful and yes, the best dog in the world!
