The Curlinator and vacation
Hiya Pals:
What a week I have had ! I gotta tell 'ya what happened BEFOR
we went on vacation.
SO
Remember how I've told you my Mom is a gardener at this big Mansion property ( where the really nice people work ) ? We went to work the day before we left and as we were walking up the driveway there was a b-i-g commotion going on. I mean a bruha-ha like I have Never heard befor. At the top of the driveway were the Canadian Geese ALL of them. There were 6 adults and not 1, not 2 but 26, YES, count them, 26 gooslings. When they caught wind of
" The Curlinator " feathers started to fly ...... goose poop all over the place and more squawking and honking than you could shake a stick at. Oh Happy Day ! I chased them through the parking lot and down the stairs and over to the bottom of the waterfall. The Big geese were using thier beaks to toss the little ones over the wall and into the water where " The Curlinator" couldn't reach them. Even the gooslings sans flight feathers where making themselves as BIG as they possibly could honking and hissing at the top of their little lungs.
Some of the people who work at the Mansion came pouring out to see what all the rukus was about. I found out a few of the men there go duck hunting..... they were Very proud of me. Who's your Doggy?
ArooOOOoo ! I'm the Dog, I'm the Dog. Then.... what do I see out of the corner of my eye ? Rabbits ! AroooOOOOo ! Off I go. AroooOOoo
Who's your Doggy ?
The Fam and I drove up to Lake Erie the next day. Honestly, " The
Curlinator " got a little nervous about being someplace new. I couldn't bring myself to eat. I had to keep Both of my folks within eye shot at all times that first day. I don't know wha I was so afraid of, I like going bye-bye in the car. I don't think my folks would take me somewhere, drop me off and then leave me. I am a pound puppy and I did have that happen once before, but I'm pretty sure this is my forever family. But after that first night I was A-OK. We went on l-o-n-g walks. I played on the beach. I got to sleep on the sand near a campfire. My Mom would walk along the beach with me looking for Lake glass that would wash ashore from broken bottles that people threw into the lake. She would look for Lucky Stones. I hope I don't have Lucky Stones in MY head. These stones are behind the eye sockets of a worthless fish called a sheepshead. The stones are about as big as a stamp, bright white with an "L" along one side. Doesn't sound so lucky to me !
Anyhow, I had a real good time, but I'm happy to be back home and sleeping in my own bed.
XO Curly
ps; be sure to check out my new pictures. My folks went camera happy on me.

The story about your adventure was great, Curly! You had soooooo much fun! It know it's easy to worry about being left somewhere when it has happened before, but believe me....you will NEVER be left again! You (and I) are in our forever homes now, with lots and lots of adventures ahead of us.

P.S. Your story of the 26 gooslings makes our story sound kind of pale, but we will tell you anyway.
We were napping peacefully in our mom's office today when something caught our eye in the courtyard (we must nap with one eye open cause we manage to see things even when asleep). It was a baby duck waddling around. It had a big yellow beak and downy looking feathers that were mostly white with some brown flecks.
What was a duck doing on our turf? We immediately started jumping up and down and barking. The duck didn't speed up or fly away or anything - it just kept going towards the back yard at a leisurely pace. So Mommy went to the bedroom and opened the drapes. We all looked out in time to see the duck squeeze itself very low to the ground and go UNDER our fence.
We were not pleased that we could not go out and deal with the duck ourselves. I (Zack) wanted to chase it away. I (Quincy) wanted to meet a real duck and see if it was like my stuffed ducks. Anyway, it was very exciting.
