The dogs next door

Our next door neihbor has 2 german sheperds that i feel so bad for. Its borderline abuse the way they are treated. I would like to hear from you other dog lovers if i should report them and if it would do any good other than starting a war with them

My yard has a privicy fence all the way around except a 15' strech that is bloked by one of thier kennel fences and is a 3' chain link. the point being, I can see evertything that happens to these poor dogs

Like i said, there are two male sheperds that are locked in a 15x15 kennel with nothing but dirt on the ground, a small dog house for both of them. Occasionally, I will see someone feed and water them but nothing else, no attention, play, treats ...nothing. The poor dogs basicly get ignored all the time.

We live in Colorado and summer is coming. we are seeing upper 90s right now and excpect triple digits come august. is it humain?

Recently, I was out back trying to water the yard but every time I turn the water on, the youngest of the two does everything in its power to escape. When I saw him almost break his back trying to shimmy past the gate while the owners sat on the porch and did nothing, I decided that maybe I should report them

Both of the animals are mean. If I approch there pin, They both get real defensive , the youngest usually hides and the eldest raises his hackles and growls. They dont seem to have a problem with my dogs

I have put a couple of pics on my profile of there pin and would love to hear the opinion of all you dog lovers

Call the humane society. All you can do is try. What is the alternative? Continue to watch as these dogs are being abused. if this were being done to a child in plain view what would you do? These dogs deserve no less. They are innocent and its up to us to speak when wrong is done. sancho, dixie and mom Good luck

In Britain an awful lot of people 'Turn a blind eye'.. they do not want to get involved..or into

trouble, If you genuinely think that these dogs are being neglected....tell someone....if you are wrong...hey your are the bigger person to say...well what if...., and if you are right you will have given these

dogs...hopefully...a chance at being rehomed to a more appropriate home.  I know the laws in Britain but not over with you, but I am sure you have animal Welfare  Groups?.... and if the dogs are being used as gaurd dogs they will growl at humans..and some will attack..again this is down to 'man' not the breed.

I feel for you but maybe some one out there will be able to help you   Good Luck   Pat and Tessa UK

That is so sad! I've heard that you can call rescue groups and they will try to intervene. So you could find a German Shepard rescue in your area (google it) and talk to them about it. They might come by the house and ask to take the dogs off their hands. This happens a lot. I've heard of rescues going to the house a few times to keep trying to talk the owners into giving up their dogs. Or maybe even the Humane Society to report them. Good luck and keep us posted.
