Story of my cookies

Years ago, my sisters, my older sister's boyfriend and I were at a local park near our house. A young girl came up to us and offered us a dog, claimed he was a full bred German Shepherd. We immediately claimed him as our own. We named him Cookie, due to his tan fur and black muzzle. After doing some research we found out that he was NOT a German Shepherd but a Bull Mastiff. Personally, I thought he was one of the most loyal things in the world. He hated being alone and would now let anyone hold him but me. I have so many memories of him, from the day he ate my food when I put it down on the coffee table while getting utensils to the day he walked into the car. He lived with us for about 2 months until he started growing at a tremendous rate- up to a point where he was getting too big for our family and house and was faced to having to depart with the best dog in the world. We gave him to a local animal shelter (Arizona Humane Society) I was in tears for the next week or so. I felt as if I was being torn apart from my best friend. My dad promised me we HAD to get a new dog since it was so barren in our house without the playful energy of Cookie. Every single weekend my dad would drive me across town to the Humane Society where he let me pick out a dog of my own. I went every weekend but never found any dog with the same charisma and Cookie. Until the Saturday of August 6, 2005, I was at the Arizona Humane Society. I walked around a couple times and began to think that it was just another visit, where I found nothing. Until my dad pointed out another dog with the same tan fur and black muzzle as Cookie. For a second there, I thought I saw my bullmastiff Cookie, til' I noticed a small distrinction from them, the shape of their ears. I knew she was the one I wanted. In the car- I named her Cookie, in honor of my old dog. And also since they looked so alike. I have kept her ever since and she has been the best dog a girl could have Laughing
