Puppy Mill Rescue...
I don't know if I got in over my head...
BUT today...
We've rescued a Shih-Tzu female around 2 or 3 years old from a Puppy Mill (I will add profile for her at some point!). The mill has been shut down (don't know the whole story) but a lawsuit and so forth happened at any rate all the dogs from this mill have been rescued and are being put into foster homes.
She is so timid and scared, we finished giving her a nice haircut, and cutting out all the huge hair clogs and matted fur, and she's been given a nice bath and smells good now!
My biggest fear is I won't be able to rehabilitate her, for instance she's probably been in a cage most of her life so she's not house trained. I fear she won't ever snap out of being so sad and shy, like she will just be so traumatized/mental/awkward from the @#$% poor life she's already been given by these evil humans that there will be no getting her out of it, maybe there is no truth to this.. I don't know but I fear that I've taken on an impossible mission.
Does anyone know anything about dogs who are rescued from places like this.. can they go on to live happy lives and learn to trust, and play, and interact,.. etc??
This is so sad... she seems in good health other than the mental trauma and @#$% she's no doubt received from day 1. =(
Any suggestions, advice, words of encouragment.. greatly appreciated!!
Dog Poisonings in Toronto!
*** Disgusting News Alert ***
Some disgusting individual is leaving antifreeze soaked bread and antifreeze in dog dishes in "High Park" in Toronto. It's a leash-less park. It's been going on for a few days it's a major story here in the news. So far 2 dogs have died and 6 others are in bad condition but expected to pull through.
I swear if I ever saw the idiot who is planting this crap... the individual would be hung up by his balls. This world can have some seriously messed up individuals in it sometimes.

Do we have a soul?
><> I often wonder if we will move on eternally, or if our deaths will be the end? I'd like to think that there is something more, as a species we are so full of love, our name backwards is God afterall, not that I'm saying we are "gods", but we express much of what God/Jesus is.... LOVE! It would be a bit weird to think that all this love we bring is not eternal. Thoughts? <><
