My name is Claire. I am a red/white basset hound and my guesstimated weight is about 35 pounds. My owner's name is Laura and she is my best friend and Mommy. My favorite hobbies include following Grandpa around while he feeds his chickens and hangs out in his shop, barking at squirrels and passers-by, chasing flies and mice, soaking up the sun in my huge backyard, hanging out with my best friend Emily ( a wiener dog), talking walks with my mommy, and taking lots of naps throughout the day. I eat Science Diet sensitive stomach formula because I used to have lots of tummy troubles. I also eat some dog treats such as pigs in a blanket, bacon strips and chew sticks. Sometimes I get the occasional bone from meat or meat juice on my dog food.

I remember the very first time I saw my mommy. It was love at first sight. I was about 3 or 4 months old when I lived at the Animal Kingdom pet store in Mesa, AZ. It was my turn to play in the little play area. I had a stuffed squeaky hot dog, but when I saw this pretty lady who picked me up I fell in love with her. She held me for a few minutes, then when she put me back down I barked at her. In my puppy language, I said "Pick me up and hold me again." She left and I was not sure if I would ever see her again. A month later, she and the man who used to be my daddy were back. They were in the office and I got to visit them. She loved me so much and I loved her too. A few days later, I had a new home. Mommy was very happy having me around.

When I was almost two years old, Mommy and I left Daddy for good. We moved around quite a bit over a few years. For the last year, I have been living in a nice backyard. I love it and so does Mommy. We live with her parents.
