Today is Frankie's last day! I'm kinda sad, she can be fun to play with sometimes, even though when she bites it feels like the time I chased the squirrel through some blackberry bushes. Her mommy and daddy are coming back from Michigan tonight and Daddy says that I need to be real nice to her today cause she's real homesick and tired from playing so much. We went to the lake on Saturday and Millie got in trouble for making new friends without taking her mama with her. She sat on me in the car and I barked at her and Mom made me sit in her lap. I'm not supposed to bark, especially at Millie. I was just cranky and tired, and Dad forgot to get me the yummy food in the big can so I couldn't eat my regular food. Mom and Dad told me that if I didn't stop this "hunger strike" soon they wouldn't ever give me the stinky can again. Mom said that some dogs have to find their own food and don't have nice warm homes with nice dry food to eat and nice fluffy friends to play with, so I should be a good girl and eat. I still didn't see what that had to do with me having to eat yucky dry food that sticks to your lips and makes clicky noises in your stomach. Frankie loves dry food. She sounds like a maraca. I accidentally bit Auntie Layla when she was trying to give me treats and her and Mom made me sit on the cold rocks out of the water for a time out. They both kept saying that Millie and I were Double Trouble, and I thought that sounded cool, like a superhero team. But judging from the looks on their faces when Millie and I tried to apprehend the culprit (Frankie) and feed her to the Godfather (Milo), I don't think it actually is a very good thing. But Friday night was fun cause we got to hang out with our new friends Barley and Floyd. Floyd is a big droopy eared bassett hound and sounds like James Earl Jones. Barley is cool; Mom said that she was raised by wild dogs and that her mom found her when she was my age. She tells me cool stories about kitty street gangs and pigeon mafias. She's even seen a live alligator once! Anyway, we were out LATE Friday night, played all day Saturday, then slept with Dad all day yesterday while Mommy and Auntie Layla went shopping. I got a new squirrel toy like Millie's! Frankie got a cool little Froggy, and I kind of wanted it more than the squirrel, but Mom says that I would eat him in five minutes. I probably would.
