Doggie Decathlon 2nd Event
It was sooooo fun to see all the entries in the Doggie Decathlon's 1st event. Here's the second test of our athletic skills. The first event tested our ability to go and touch a specific target, this one will test our sit and stay skills. What we need to do is sit and stay in a specific spot designated by our person for 15 seconds. Two rules, first our human can't be in the picture. We need to show that we can sit in the spot all on our own, and second, something marking the place we need to sit in/on should be in the picture. Below, I'm working on the second event by sitting inside a hula hoop. Not everyone has a hula hoop so you can use anything. You might want to try a couple of books, one on each side marking the area or anything like that. I can't count that high, so my mom counted to 15 real slow like this....one one-thousand, two one-thousand, and on and on 'til she got to 15. This event was lots of fun and like me, you'll probably get a treat when you are done! We have from today through next Monday (9/23 - 9/30) to work on this second leg of the Doggie Decathlon and our second point. Have fun!

Love the pics of everyone! Monty, he cracks us up! Mom just wants to hug him. She'll have to send pictures of Gus, her Great Dane when she was a teenager. She's been wanting to get pics up of him, but it was before the digital age and they are buried somewhere. Mom a teenager, whew! thats a decade ago!

Miss Astrid, Mont here! I noticed that Clyde's family is going on vacation for three weeks. As a big dog, I know how important it is for us to show that we can be just as well behaved as the little ones. So I was wondering, if you could do something special for Clyde so that he wouldn't miss being able to get his award at the end of the Decathalon. Could you email his mom what he needs to do so that she can take the pics of him and when they get back post them all? No....Clyde didn't put me up to this, he doesn't know that I am even writing! I love seeing all the pups here do their thing. I was really impressed with 7dogs...wow!! all them Danes...mama is impressed!!!

Hello Miss Astrid. We wanted to all be in the circle together but it didn't quite end up that way. So we did it one at a time. Except for Miss Lilly who cannot sit anymore because of her knees. We let her off on this one...

Mom and Dad put two rocks, Portia's toy, and something else to make an "area" where we had to sit in. Portia kept taking the toy all the time...
