Astrid's mom makes all these beautiful handmade items, and then donates all the proceeds to the shelter that Astrid came from. WE had a group up for Christmas, and we loved how everyone supported and joined the group..we are so hoping our friends once more do that. Even if you don't shop from her two stores..just joining our group, is a great support. The background is a photo of the Shelter Astrid came from. We are sure Astrid will come up with some fun and games again..like she did for Christmas! As always..the shipping is FREE, and you can send to anyone..even if its a secret admirer you have for Valentines Day.. Astrid's mom always includes a pretty tag and she can write whatever you want. Astrid wrote this: "While in Arizona, my mom and dad went to the shelter I came from and passed out 20 bags of treats to all of my friends that haven't found homes yet. Lots of the doggies, like Negra who at age 7 who we thought would NEVER find a home, have found forever homes. You see, Negra got to be 7 years old while living in the shelter because you can live there as long as you need to....even FOREVER if you have to. The shelter is very, very poor and is right on the Mexico/USA border. See that fence behind the building? The other side of the fence is Mexico! When I first came to live with my mom and dad, they weren't sure if I barked in English or Spanish. Now I bark in both...***giggles*** While there, my mom took these pictures of the shelter. It isn't much to look at, but there are 50 doggies living there now. There are lots of kennels on each side that you can't see. Most doggies stay outside all of the time like I did. Some dogs on the Mexico side of that fence find little places to fit through, and if my shelter finds them, they give them a place to live." Astrid's mom said this to me ..and it's so true.. "Sometimes great treasures are discovered in not so pretty places" Astrid's mom found a treasure..as others can also in shelters all over..and this is her way of giving back..and also helping other dogs in that shelter.
