Cinnamon is a GREAT dog! I got her through a rescue group from a family who didn't want her anymore. The husband wanted dogs, but the wife didn't. Cinnamon was therefore left outside alone all the time in a fenced in area that was just compacted dirt, not even any grass. It seems she spent all of her time alone and the husband finally decided maybe that wasn't fair to her.
She was 2 1/2 when I got her and she makes me so happy! She is the sweetest girl and she just loves to cuddle. She has been to/through 13 states and is a very good traveler. Because she wasn't around people until I got her, she is still very shy around strangers - even 7 years later. She loves to be with us at all times and loves her walks, greenies, and naps in the big bed!

All my childhood I had always wanted a dog, but we couldn't have one because we lived in a duplex. Then our circumstances changed when I turned 18 and we went to live in a house. Well, my only thoughts were "now I could get a dog"! And before my mom and new step-dad completely said 'yes' to the idea of getting a dog, I got Portney.
It was love at first sight for me, though I don't think the same was true for my parents. The first thing he did when they met him, was piddle on their kitchen floor. But they came around, how could you resist? He was such a sweet, good, fun, playful, loving boy! My dream had come true! He was always happy to see anyone who came to the door and I was his favorite. When I moved out, I had to leave him with my parents, but luckily I could see him every single weekend - which I did! Of course, then, my mom became his favorite!
I miss you, Portnoy Boy, you are forever in my heart.

This is Zip! We just got her and she's around 12 yrs old. We don't know for sure. Her 89 yr old owner just passed away and the family couldn't keep her so they were looking for a new home for her or she'd have to go to the Humane Society.
She's a creaky old girl and I hope she can live out a nice, happy retirement with us because she's definitely not ready to go yet! I worry about her health because she is a very old 12 yr old.
Her first few hours here have been very sniffy. She has walked from room to room sniffing every little place, corners, bathtubs and all! True beagle, the nose still works great!
She has one bad habit: she barks while you eat! We put her in our bedroom, but she still barked. I guess that's how it's going to be! That's okay, we just love her. Our 5 yr old girl said, "I love her, she's so beautiful and perfect!" Awwwww!

Sorry we haven't been barking much lately. Grammy has gotten some bad news from Michigan and will be heading back for the weekend. (at least)

Yes we had rain from Gustav, nothing serious, but rain just set in a couple of days and we needed it, so it was a good thing. Did have some pretty good wind, but not hurricane winds. It was just a storm by the time it got here. However, the problems we have, especially in Missouri our neighbor is flooding from the rain. They are having it pretty bad. Our rivers fill up and it has to go somewhere!

Me and mama just heard that one of my buddys was at work at the boatyard with his daddy today and got ranover.
Cocomoe was the exact same age as me, and a pal since age 8 months.
So this is a sad day for us.

Oh the 'Assessment' was just hunky dory thank you very much Cinnamon and Zip.....I had to have my anal glands squeezed...and the vet offered to let Mum do it..and you should have heard what she said...not a hope in hell, no chance, seen any flying pigs lately, more chance of seeing a Whale walking down the high street...ok we got your point mum, you do not love me enough to squeeze the liquid poo from my bottie..thats ok...sob sob sob sob..bet your mum would do that would'nt she Cinnamon bet she would no problem..but my mum no..oh she will pay the vet to do it...but would not do it herself...I am devasted I thought she loved me! (and the fact that the 'stuff' squirted out at 100 miles per hour and very nearly hit the vet in the face has absolutely nothing to do with it..pat)
Neglected and unloved Tessa...oh part from that I am doing ok, lungs still iffy, new lump on breast (why did they not take that one off the first masectomy!!), but they are going to observe the lump...how boring is that!!, cos an anesthetic would be dangerous....oooo you will love this Mum said to the vet well if you want to to take a biopsy you could lightly sedate her and I will stay in and make sure she does not move while you remove tissue....Now wait a minute!"!! that sounds sore!!!!...anyway we will just put that on to the back burner for awhile!!! phew!!!! xxxTessa UK
