On a day in early spring, I came into the world with my 4 other litter mates.  My mom is a Shih Tzu and my dad is a Peek-a-Poo so I'm a mixed little puppy.  My  human had just lost her Sheltie friend due to a long illness so I came into her life to make her smile again.  I'm really good at causing smiles!  Since I'm a puppy, I love to get into trouble.  My favorite thing is to carry around my empty dog dish.  Our house also has an older Toy Poodle and a large Sheltie who doesn't like me.  She doesn't like the poodle either.  She always growls but won't hurt us.  Her best friend was Hannah, the Sheltie that isn't here anymore.  (I'm sure she misses Hannah.)  I love to curl up by her and snuggle, but she just growls....  Maybe she'll like me someday when I grow up.  My human is with me almost all the time and I really like that.  I don't like to ride in the car too much....makes me kinda sick.  Hope I grow out of that.  I love playing with my big pile of toys, playing outside (I don't like to come in), eating, looking out the windows and dog treats.  My human doesn't give me a lot of those though.  She doesn't want me to get too fat. (I guess.) I like to go for walks too and listen pretty good when we go.  I hope to meet some new puppy friends with my very own mydogspace page.  Did I telll you I am blonde?  My ears are a light tan or gold.  I'm really kinda cute!!

Where I use to live, I had to stay outside all the time, rain or shine, hot or cold and this was near Atlanta, GA where it got very hot and very cold.  There was another Sheltie that always picked on me.  (She was found dead in the yard not long after I left.)  My then human asked my now "mom" if she would find a home for me since I was so lonesome & neglected.  Mom brought me home and I was a mess!!  All matted, smelled terrible, had kidney infection...not a happy doggy.  My now mom took good care of me, helped me get better AND I met Hannah.  We were best buddies from the day I moved in.  Hannah and I did everything together.  We moved to Texas in 2004 and we're very happy here.  (Except it is very hot!)  I love to stay inside where it is cooler and sleep on the cool tile floor or on the bathroom floor.  I have a Thyroid problem so I have gained a lot of weight and move really slow.  Mom keeps telling me we will go for walks but there is always some excuse.  (First it was too cold, then it rained forever!!!, now it is way too hot.)  Poor mom, she doesn't like to go out in the heat either.  We are definitely looking forward to this fall and cooler weather so we can take much needed walks.  I will even try really hard to put up with that crazy little puppy Holly.  (I know she loves me, but she is so playful all the time...Give me a break!)  I do miss Hannah but I know she is happy now and feels much better.  She was really a sick little doggy.  She will not be forgotten and I will see her again someday.  Not much more to tell you other than I love my mom & I know she loves me and will always take good care of me.  I'm a lucky pup.

Since I was rescued by my FOREVER mom, we don't know when my birthday is or what my first name was.  Now I am Hogan and I like that name, where ever it came from.  My FOREVER mom is very good to me.  We are lucky to have found each other.  My family b4 didn't want to take care of me anymore and sent me away to be put to sleep.  I didn't do anything (that I know of).  I don't potty in the house....ever!!  I only bark when someone comes to the door or if I want to go out.  I can't understand why they would do that to a good little companion. 

My mom was feeling lonely and that no one needed her so she called her Vet's office to see if they had any puppies.  They told her all they had was this little white, seven pound poodle with one eye.  (Sound cute don't I?)  I was very matted, had been nuetered without the staples being taken out for who knows how long, very skinny....just a sad looking little guy.  Mom came & looked at me & said she'd think about it.  She didn't think too long, even though I had just been given a bath and was wrapped up in a blanket and very wet.  I really was not attractive at all.....  My FOREVER mom made sure I had all my shots and a license and she took me home. 

About a month after I moved in with my new mom, I had a terrible seizure and mom & her friend rushed me to the emergency clinic at night.  I stayed there all night but was better in the morning.  After some blood tests, they found out that I have Epilepsy.  (We think that's why my first family gave me up.)  Since then, thanks to my mom giving me medicine everyday (she doesn't think I know when she sneaks it in some dog food).  I haven't had any more seizures, thank heaven.  Mom was really scared.

That was in GA and now we are in Texas.  We don't have Hannah with us anymore but now we have that little pest, Holly.  I do like to play with Holly until I get tired though.  She really gives this ole guy a workout.  When I'm tired, I  just let her know it and usually, with mom's help, she will leave me alone.

So, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.  I am Hogan  and I'm a happy, loved puppy.

Vet says that's enough!

This is my sweetie, Princess Kayde!!

Hannah was my precious beautiful Sheltie that was constantly at my heels no matter where I went.  She would follow me everywhere I went, never got any rest as long as I was moving about.  Poor Hannah developed TCC (Cancer of the bladder) and left us in late April to run free & play at the Rainbow Bridge.  She will be waiting for the rest of us when we go to meet her.  We all miss her terribly but know that she is no longer in pain and hopefully has made some doggie friends (since she never thought she was a dog).  Her companion was my Dixie who wouldn't leave Hannah's side.  When Hannah went out, Dixie went out.  When Hannah came to eat, Dixie followed.  She was by her side all the time.  Hannah is the only dog that Dixie did not growl at.  Now I'm sure she misses Hannah but Dixie is doing fine.  Rest in peace, sweet Hannah.  We will love you forever.

    WE MISS YOU SOOO MUCH!!  LOVE, MOM, DIXIE, HOGAN AND HOLLY...

Well, here is the story of my short life so far!  As you can see, I was born on July 31, 2008.  I'm a Shih-Tzu/Peek-a-Poo puppy, just like Holly except that I am mostly shiny black with some little white markings.  I look more like my daddy who is a purebred Shih-Tzu that is black and white.  There were 6 puppies born with me, 2 girls and 4 boys.  All of the others have gone to really good, loving, forever homes.  Which leaves just little ole' me!!  My "human" mom wanted a playmate for Holly for the longest time since Dixie and Hogan really don't play too much anymore.  All they want to do is sleep, eat and go out once in a while.  And that Holly, she has soooo much energy and no one to play with.   I hear she has a boyfriend but he doesn't live near here so they can only play once in a while when they go on dates. 

Back in the late Spring, Holly was suppose to have something called surgery to get "fixed".  Before mom knew it, Holly was in a "family way".  Mom was kinda excited and kinda worried too.  She thought this would be a perfect way to get a playmate for Holly.  Well, several weeks went by and in case you haven't guessed, Holly had puppies.  Yes, she is my "doggy" mom.  Holly is a wonderful mother and took such good care of all of us puppies from the minute we were born.  She knew just what to do and always protected us from any dangers.  We all grew into beautiful, healty puppies and all except me, have new homes.  I am one lucky pup to have two moms.  One mom who protects me and teaches me and my "human" mom who looks after my daily needs now that I have gotten bigger.  Our "human" mom gets our dinner and treats, takes us for rides in the car, makes sure we have all our "dr" care, gives us lots of love and affection....and TOYS.  We have a very happy home and Dixie hasn't even growled at me too much.  (I've heard that she growls at all the dogs.)  Dixie will even let me snuggle up by her to sleep at night. 

I am such a happy little puppy and just love to play with Holly all the time.  We sleep, eat, go outside, walk with this stringy thing around my neck, get lots of affection and PLAY...PLAY...PLAY!!!  There are so many toys here I don't know if I'll ever play with all of them.  I can't wait for you to see me.  Mom has lots of pictures but is having trouble getting them on the profile.  I hope she will get it figured out soon.  Thanks for listening to my short story.  I hope you will like me too!
