Meet Bella the Boston ~ AKC Canine Good Citizen, Dog Model, Shelter Pet Advocate
Bella’s Story
In 2006 A stray Boston Terrier puppy was found on the streets and brought to the NYC Animal Care and Control (The city’s shelter). She was scared, emaciated, showed signs of abuse and clearly was neglected. A kind hearted Veterinary Technician who worked there fell in love with her sweet disposition and had been looking for a Boston to adopt for awhile. It seemed as if it were meant to be…
Bella was nursed back to health and thankfully has no health problems. Her mommy spent many hours training and helping her to become the great dog she is today. She has a family that loves her dearly and two human siblings to play with. Bella has many friends that she loves to visit at various dog runs in the boros and loves attending any dog events, contests or celebrations. As you can imagine she likes being in the spotlight and loves posing for pictures. Bella will do anything for attention and praise…Its that which makes Bella so wonderful because her drive to please will stop at nothing. Bella’s mission is to show everyone that even shelter dogs (and other shelter pets) can be winners too!
Bella needs every vote she can get for her contest to help shelter pets, she is way behind in votes and some of her competition is cheating and not playing fair :( Please vote daily or whenever possible (the contest ends next month). Lets show these other dogs what Shelter and Rescues dogs can do when we stick together! Bella plans to donate her prize to the NYC ACC shelter, where she came from so she can help dogs and cats that were once just like her.
(this link will take you directly to her personal voting page, just click on 5 stars and your done, takes just one second to make a big difference!)

Thanks so much and lots of love & doggie kisses from Bella

Lexi, Addie, and a few others are also in this contest. I don't know how you can cheat with online voting, but I guess it is possible. I only post for votes on my personal blog myself and I belong to other groups. I also place ads for votes. I campaign everyday for votes and work very hard at it, as does everyone else. All the contestants are winners in my book, but only a few will win the money. I hope all who vote are voting only 5 stars for everyone. If you are not going to vote 5 stars for everyone, than please do not vote. The contest should be as honest as can be. I vote once a day, and of course I vote for my dog. I do not vote, nor give bad stars to others as it is bad karma to do so.
Good Luck to all from MDS who are in this contest. Paws crossed for us all.

We arent sure who is giving others 1 stars but i noticed this early in the contest when Bella went from 1st. place, to the top three, then her average was slowly starting to fall so much, even for Lexi, the same thing was happening or is still happening, not sure anymore because the whole thing was really getting on my nerves so i just stopped reminding my buddies to vote. This is Bellas first contest and who knew this whole thing would be such a big issue! We really dont want to give up for our cause because we know how much our local NYC shelter pets really do need it however i dont feel comfortable spamming others everyday to achieve our goal, now there are some that have other dogs that entered the contest to win money for their friends and that to me is just as bad, im sure these contestants didnt ask these friends to do that but i dont think its fair that any winner should get two prizes. Some people say that this is how these contests are but i dont know it just doesnt seem right to me. Regardless Bella wishes everyone the best of luck.

This is my first contest ever. But it's always about politics no matter what. And if you want votes, you have to campaign for them. Most of my friends vote without being reminded and others want a daily reminder. If I was rich, this would not be an issue at all. But The next contest I enter MDS will not know about it, that way no one from MDS will be running against us. I belong to other groups and we take turns entering contest for different things and we get votes for that person. And we don't join that contest. Upon recieving my new buddy she needed more vet stuff than the norm. My vet has given me the best prices and the lowest he can go. (he has to make a living also) But the bills are still more than the norm for me. Thanks to several friends from MDS, Lexi has gotten alot of stuff done already. She has a few more things to get done and she will be almost new again. But win or lose she will still get the help needed.
This contest has taken it's toll on it's contestants. But I hope at least someone from MDS wins. Good luck to us all.
