My puppie Panda LOVES shoes, slippers, socks... Her favorite thing to do is drag out every shoe from the bedroom closet one by one and bring it into the living room. She doesn't really chew on them, she'll just stick her face in the shoe and push it around the floor. Its hilarious. She also likes to sleep with them. My husband had this old pair of work boots that he just let her have because she was obsessed with them. Whenever I go in her room to take her out in the mornings, she is cuddled up this this old boot. Any one have any idea what it is that she might like about shoes? The only bad thing is when I wear slippers in the house (I have this fuzzy white pair that she absolutely covets) she attacks my feet. I tell her "NO" very firmly and she'll stop for a second, then before I know it she's back at it again. She know's she's only allowed to chew on her old boots. I try to keep the doors to the closet closed, but we live in a 100+ year old house and the doors don't close all the way. Suggestions?

With a new puppy, it's all about "management". Of course a puppy will want to chew shoes; that's the nature of their learning about their environment. Actually, there is some nutritional value to shoe leather! Anyway, remove the shoe rack out of Logan's reach for now. Teach him the "leave it" command if you want to do "positve training". If he stops doing something you don't want him to do with the command, then feed him a tasty treat. What you need to do is figure out how you want to train Logan. There are many methods out there, but I believe that the "positive"  one is the right way to go. It creates a wonderful relationship between you and your dog.

I agree with lnkaye, I had to do the same thing with my Dallas, first thing he went after were my Puma's, then he wanted flip-flops.  But he definitely learned that those weren't meant to be his toys.  You really have to keep an eye on your pup and your shoes to catch him in the act. :)
