Peeing as she eats...

My puppy will be 4 months on the 17th of January. We just got her on the 29th, but already I've noticed something somewhat strange. None of the dogs I've had before have ever done this before. As she eats, she pees. Not every time, but enough times for me to notice and be somewhat concerned. I have always thought dogs tried to keep their pee away from their food. Can anyone tell me if I should be worried in the first place, what I should do to discourage this ( since saying no and moving her away isn't helping), if I should have her checked out?
Thank you,
Maggs

Is this a few drops, out of excitement? Or a puddle? You should get her checked out. It doesn't sound like something she has control over, so try not to make a big deal out of it. Maybe put some paper towels down, or feed her outdoors? Can you ask the prev owners/where you got her from if this happened, there? Is she spayed?

yeah that is strange, usually pups pee when they get excited, but Ive never heard of a puppy pee while its eating...You should get her checked out just incase it might be more serious than just excitement.

Its a puddle. Now she is having diahrea as well. I am thinking that the peeing and diahrea could be related, but also it could be that we are feeding her something that her breeder hadn't been, and training her with puppy treats that have oatmeal in them. If anyone has any ideas about what to do for the diahrea, that'd be a great help - since its new years the docs may not be open today. As far as the peeing goes, I've tried puppy pee pads, and she shreds them - and her previous owners had her in a dog barn, which had a door she could go out of whenever she needed to go - they never saw her pee as she ate.

Hi Bourbon
The diahrea could be down to a change of diet any change of food should be introduced gradually over about seven days. Starting with usual food with a little of what you want to change to and gradually adding more over the seven days. If she was fed with other dogs nearby could the peeing be submissive urination. Just a thought.

Two words: canned pumpkin. This is good for the d-word or constipation. Make sure you get canned pumpkin and NOT pumpkin pie filling!

give her boiled hamburger and rice for the diarhhia, as for the pee-pee, maybe she loses control over her bladder as she eats. female dogs have a tougher time with thier holding than males.
