I went to the vet a couple weeks ago and was given Frontline but because we live in Florida I was thinking about using K9 Advantix because it takes care of fleas, ticks, and mosquitos.  I'd really like to hear some opinions.  Thanks for your imput.

i use advantix and have never had a problem with it. we too have all those pesky things in ga that like to bite our pets.

When taking Astrid to her new vet when we moved here to NC, he recommended Advantix and actually had quit carrying Frontline because his patients didn't find it as effective. The 16 years I had my other two dogs in AZ, I used nothing but Frontline. It was 100 percent effective except for the time my husband hosed Sadie the beagle off on a super hot day, not knowing I had just applied the Frontline. She got a couple of ticks after that and we had to get rid of them....those things are nasty, aren't they?

It seems that Frontline has not been working for many folks the last year or so. I have no clue why....maybe the bugs got immune....maybe the formula changed. I know they say it's good for ticks, but I have never seen any evidence of that.

FYI...Advantix is just Advantage with a pesticide.

Frontline Plus was specially formulated for us dogs in Florida. If you aren't having any results with Frontline, switch to the Plus (we won't use anything else). And make sure you ONLY get it from your vet (guaranteed). My mom got some online and she may have well just sprinkled salt on her dogs. She ended up with a HUGE problem.
