Chip Implants Linked to Animal Tumors ;-O
People find it surprising that our pack is not microchipped. I was waiting for a universal scanner to become more affordable. Plus, they are usually always with either Bob or I. Now, I am relieved I waited!!

A vet from the Charlotte are was on the news about this topic recently. She quoted the statistics that there have actually been 10 reported tumors in dogs but there have been thousands and thousands returned to their homes because of this technology. I'm not a gambler, but I went with the odds on this one and Astrid had her V chip implant done at an AKC Responsible Pet Ownership festival that was held recently. The vet also noted that the mice and rats used in the testing were genetically altered to be predisposed to produce tumors. This is just one of those decisions you've got to make for yourself......I wish the news would give the complete story, though.

All mine have been micro chipped. I'd rather take the chance of a tumor and have a better chance of getting them back should they get away from me. I'm with you Astrid - it would be nice if the news would give a complete story.
