I have been giving my dogs Wild Alaskan Samon Oil (by Omega Maintenance ) with their meals for about a month now. I must say - their coats are looking WONDERFUL! If your dog doesn't have an allergy to Salmon Oil - I highly recommend getting some.

This is wonderful and contained in the food I feed. Did you know dogs need Omega 3s and 6s? Humans only need Omega 3s. tina

Do you think that the Salmon oil would help stop scratching? I've tried other oils but they haven't worked.

It's worth a try. One of my dog scratches a lot but it's due to allergies. The back of the bottle says it promotes healthy skin and coat and I've found that to be the case. My dogs fur shines out in the sun.

Hi futluce, My dogs had the same problem. With trial and error we found Wellness food, fish and potatoes. They got much better! Hope it helps. Even us two-legged creatures can be allergic to food, as for me I don't eat any animal product and never had any health problems. ;o)

Lucky had horrible skin and hair problems from when he was malnurished and had mange. I gave him the same wild alaskan salmon oil (got it from petco) He now has an amazing coat and has stopped scratching all together. I recommend it!

Before you roll your eyes and think, this is not dog related ~ if we two-leggeds are more healthy we can live longer, more active lives to take care of the four-leggeds!! So, here goes: fish oil is EXCELLENT for people, too ~ from helping you to sleep, better cardiovascular health, lowering cholesterol & more. We take a pharmaceutical grade (you won't have to take as many capsules).

There's always two capsules of it in my cup of vitamins and herbs that I (and the rest in my house) take each day.

Tina, what do you feed? We currently use Lassie's Natural Way and add a 1000mg fish oil capsule daily.
