Clean his or her own eye boogers?
We got Maxx just after 8 weeks..so you'd think he would've learned the skill, but he will not touch them, or clean his face and lick his paws like most other dogs do.
Unless the eye booger becomes insanely long and fold back on itself and irritate his eye...
Is there a remedy or should I stock up on paper-towels for the do-it-yourself job? |

I usually clean them out myself, I never let it get to bad, they sell wipes especially to do that and so it doesn't irritate the eye.. to me it's kind of like having an baby, if you don't do it, than who will? lol |

Sometimes Chi will lick her paws and clean her face..we think she learned that from our cat Scamp before he went to Rainbow Bridge. For a long time she thought she was a cat and to this day she still does "cat" stuff. But for the most part ... yep that's mom's job! |

Having a boxer mix, the eye boogies can get pretty gross if not taken care of asap. She has allergies, so when she is outside for long periods of time its all I can do to keep her eyes clean. Just keep a box of tissues handy. |

If you're really lucky you have more than one dog and one of them is a 'groomer'. |

O thank God my dogs are the only ones who do gross stuff. I have to wash thier faces each nite with baby wipes cause Banjo and Sophie's faces are super wrinkled and will get smelly! |

Wow...honestly, I grew up with my chows, they were the only dogs I had and they were CONSTANTLY tending to their personal appearance...I get Maxx and I'm like, "What's YOUR problem?" Thinking that the chows were the norm and he's the weirdo!
Maxximilian, my apologies, my good friend. |

Moo Moo (Harlee Ann) cleans her face but not often enough just when she feel the urge (once a month LOL). I do the same and clean her face everymorning and every evening after meal time. Yup just like a baby LOL

Tessa is thirteen and the only pet cleaning that goes on around her is her watching the cat!! As said in the previous post....I have always done it!, just keep an eye (LOL) on the eyes incase your dog has a slight infection, but I am afraid as far as I know with dogs it is always mums job!!!...but hey could be I have the laziest dog in the kingdom lol good luck!!!
