My best friend I've known for ten years has a little JRT mix that I babysit all week. He's half chihuahua, and he's six pounds, although he's a month or two older than my wolfdog pup, and watching them play together constantly is /adorable/, because Sebastian (said Jack Russel Terrier/chihuahua) usually beats up my wussy wolfboy. xDD They play for hours, then once they've tired themselves out, they usually find a couch or a cooshy pillow to flop over on and nap for a while. I love little frazzle-faced Sebby, though. n_n

This is what the American Kennel Club Says "Arthur Heinemann, who founded the Parson Jack Russell Terrier Club in 1914, drafted the first Jack Russell breed standard in 1904. "

Hi all,
I have had my JRT for 3 weeks now. I love him so much. My question is tho what do you think is normal weight for a 6 month old pup. He was so little and scrawny when we got him as he was the smallest pup and had to fight for his food. Obviously I have fixed that. But now my dad thinks he's to fat. He only eats puppy food, no human food at all. Any thoughts? Thanks very much.

Re comment on changing JR breed name to 'Parsons' This is a specific type of Jack Russell, long legged, wire haired they were the first ever bred , at present the British Kennel Club does not recognise this as a breed and therefore theyy cannot compete in breed classes at Crufts or Registered dog class shows. This is because there is so many different types, The Parsons is called after the actual person who bred the initial dog who was The Reverend Jack Parsons, thus 'Parsons Jack Russell ', I have had my JR for over twelve years and it is frustrating that this breed is not recognised by the British Kennel Club but unfortunately thats lifex |
