We are working on improving the site and serve the community. So would like some inputs from our community :)
i) What do you like best about the site
ii) What feature on the site that you rarely use (if its gone, you don't care) or something that really bugs you (that Mydogspace can control)
iii) What do you want from the site that we are not providing

Astrid and I are enjoying our new membership here at mydogspace. As a new (just this weekend!) Apple user, I'm not sure what are my issues regarding some features and which would be classified as mydogspace's issues. I find it interesting that when I clicked on reply to this thread, the window with the flashing curser allowing me to add text pops up but the blog and barks windows aren't allowing me to type in text. I see that this issue was addressed elsewhere, noting that fixing problems isn't easy. I can only imagine that bugs like this are difficult to pin point and resolve! Astrid and I are very patient. So far, we are loving it here and maybe we will be able to give more productive answers in the future.

*We don't like the site* ~ WE LOVE IT (yes, I am shouting!)
Best is meeting new pals that love their dogs as much as our mom loves us. Dislike the new feature of announcing who is now pals (takes up space, IMHO). Would love to see a world map of dots where members are, I saw a new member from Antartica, last week!!

I agree with the Aussies - don't need to see who is now pals. I'm on dial up so I think some of the problems are related to my connection and not the site itself. I'd like to be able to comment on photos - that would be fun.

I also agree with the Aussies on pals. It would be nice to have doggies rate the videos and leave comments, too. Having next to "visits.." on profile page: "member since..."

We love the site! The only thing I would like to add is to be able to leave comments on others pictures.

Rating and comments on video and photos seems to be a common request. We'll see what we can do.....

I just got my first e-mail (aka private message), and I want to thank you for the big delete button that is very obvious that shows up below the e-mail text. On other boards, I have a terrible time finding the delete button, usually because it is only present on the page that lists all the e-mails.

Meand Mommy Love this site. I really like reading the blogs and forums, seeing what everyone is up to. I like the idea of being able to see where members are too, but if they don't put that in their profile, I guess that wouldn't show up would it..? I like meeting all yous guys (and gals) but it would really be cool if I could see how close we really did live near each other, then when our humans were busy, we could set up play dates or meets and get it all planned between us, then tell them.. and give the old 'please pout'.. and what could they do... they'd have to let us... wouldnt they?

We kept the location at a very high level (i.e. city) and totally optional for privacy reason.
We can add the option for zipcode (again optional) and that will allow others to locate others. However, I still have some concerns if the plus side out weights the down side. Thoughts?

You're in no more danger meeting a person/dog here than you are at the local dogpark~ IMHO. Here, you can build a rapport, see how long they have been on, etc; allows for some accountability. If you are wary, maybe just put the county or zipcode you are in. You can also check events in the Forum to see what's going on, where ;-)

oops-- looks like I opened a bag of worms.. but like I said, if it's not in the profile.. then I guess it won't show up.. and that's cool.. after all it is a completely optional choice. That I do know. Anyways I apologize. I didn't mean to make anybody angry. :o(

A feature like this will have to be optional. But then it is useful? Since this will only work if the majority participate.

Thanks for the various feedbacks. I am taking each into account and working on some new designs.
So watch out for new changes in the coming weeks.
Keep these feedbacks coming - as I want to build this into something the community wants and NOT what 'Robert' wants.

Also - would a special section (tab) on tips/articles be interesting? Or is the current format of having the information in the forum just as good (since this allows comments etc)?

Hey Rob ~ Great idea : subject tabs would be great. After a blog gets updated so many times, you'd never find it again, unless you knew exactly where to look. Maybe call it info/resources, list subjects in alphabetical order ?
Another suggestion : is there a way to avoid "flooding"? When a person copies and pastes the same bark to multiple members; it clogs the homepage. It would be better if they blogged it, then, members could bark back ~ they might even get some new pals!! tina

The advertising/sponsors helps to keep the site free. So its also our obligation to make sure their ads are seen. If we don't have ads - then the only way for us to cover cost (I need my dog food), is to start charging membership fees (which I don't really want to do - as I want to keep the community open).
If anyone has ideas regarding the ads - let me know.
Smileys - ok - in the list to do.

I'm Loving the site!
I agree with all the people/pups who said it would be good to comment on videos and photos, I also think that there should be a make slideshow button on our photos so then we can make a slideshow without having to go to another site because on myspace there is that feature which I think is great, I also think there should be like bullitins or like a comment board that only our friends can see so then we can post messages to say things like 'I'm one year older' or 'I've got a new video' stuff like that. Other than that as I said before I'm loving the site!

Cute new icons for Flag ~ Email ~ Req/Block . But shouldn't the *happy thing* go first? Pal Request ~ Email ~ Block ~ Flag. Also a little more space in between would be good. I almost flagged someone by mistake!! ;-P tina

We'll be rolling out some new changes tonight for the 'dog house' tab. So look out for those tomorrow when you login.

Just an FYI: we are working on the ability to rate and comment on photos - this should be ready before the end of this week. So watch out for that.
And you may have noticed that info on who are pals are removed from the barks now (our community rules!!) - instead its on the 'dog house' page.

It's very refreshing to have a website owner care about feedback and then to implement the changes rather quickly. Hooray for Robert! Yes, the community rules here for sure. BOW WOW WOW! Will videos also be rated and commented on?

If the photo rating/comment feature is successful - we'll add it to video also. The human slaves are working hard on it right now.

Hello we love this site so much. Our only problem is that for some unknown weird reason our computer at home still does not display our backgrounds or color boxes properly.( No one elses either) Mom has tried the default and the custom settings both, neither show up. However on her computer at work it will display any changes that she has made from home. She has tried updating our browser and changing the settings on the monitor to no avail. Anyone have any ideas on what she needs to do? We run on windows xp home version. Maybe someone could pop onto our page and tell us what it looks like from their end. Thanks, Kes, Gracie and Pearl.
