I've spent the past 3 hours just trying to log in... the site wouldn't even open.  Once it did and I logged in, I'm actually moving around OK... but getting here in the first place has literally taken all afternoon.  I kinda wondered if it was down for maintenance or something? 

Hmmm...we'll look into this.

If the site was in maintenance - you will still see a page that tells you.

I'm gettin error messages all day, pages not loading etc...

I just left a message on your page Robert - I get the maintenance message when trying to go onto my own page. I have had problems all day. This is the first time all day I have been able to post a comment anywhere - all other tries resulted in the proxy error.

if you are gettng the maintenance page - then:

1) the site is being maintained OR

2) you need to refresh you browser

I have refreshed my browser. I have exited IE and reentered. I have shut down my machine and restarted. The problem continues.

Still not good... after several tries I finally got logged in but can't get to my profile.  If this post works, it'll be the extent of what I can put up with.  It just doesn't move... sometimes I get the proxy error, sometimes I get an operation aborted message and have to click OK, but mostly it just doesn't move.  This is VERY typical- I have had these problems for weeks.  Sometimes I can manage, but I'm getting so frustrated that I'm about ready to just completely give up.  I've already seriously limited my usage.  MDS and MCS are the only places that I have this kind of trouble.  Remember to hit Control C before hitting submit... cuz I'm sure it won't work till I've tried about a thousand times.

This is in response to Ms. Astrid's (and mom's) blog.  We haven't been on much this week cuz mom's been busy but we have experienced these issues before.  And yes it gets frustrating and mom gets a little upset but she always tries to remember that computers aren't everything.  There is more to life.  Yes she wants to keep in touch and visit with our furends but she also remembers that computers can only do what they are programmed to do.  AND PEOPLE AREN'T PERFECT!  We think Rob and Hershey have done a wonderful job considering the problems they have and it has to be a 24-7 job.  They don't get a break because people won't let them have one with all of their (our) complaining.  They are doing their very best to keep this site free for all of us...they don't have to do that and some of us seem to forget that sometimes..including us.

oh and mom has a question and doesn't want to offend anyone but we've noticed there are quite a few profiles that have not been accessed in many months...so she just assumes those people aren't coming back.  Can those profiles not be deleted, say after not being accessed for more than 6 months.   Wouldn't that free of "space"?  Mom doesn't know how all of that works and was just wondering?

Bits, bytes and puppy dog tails ***giggles***, unused established profiles don't amount to much 'space' but I find them time consuming and annoying. I used to leave birthday greetings to ALL doggies having birthdays, then I realized I left them on pages that were almost over a year old and never revisited. To have profiles auto deleted that haven't been updated by owner in 'X' amount of time would be a great feature! Come to think of it, Sable and Chi, it WOULD free up space. Lot's of these profiles contain lots of pictures and stuff, and if you lump 'em all together, that could amount something!

Some members don't access the site - but use the badge (widget) to display their profile elsewhere.

However, for various display on the site - like the battle for cutness, home page etc, we show members that are active o the site.

Has anyone else been having Proxy errors today? This is the first time I have been able to get on all afternoon, and I tried quite a few times.
