Has anyone heard about the news around PETA recently...I know it was on CNN yesterday.

They put an ad of some sort in the Dog Fancy magazines saying you could call a number to get your puppy a free gift bag.

A woman called and got a recording saying something about your calling for a body bag for the dog you didn't adopt or buy.  Pretty much trying to make people feel bad for only getting the dog they chose.

I thought this was sick, just curious what other opinoins are.

They played the recording on tv that the woman got, it was terrible.  I would cry if I got that. lol

I have no sympathy for Dog Fancy mag. Had a subscription until I started looking at the ads in the back. Check out some of the disgusting kennels and breeders they take ad money from. obvious people breeding dogs to fight, cancelled them and Dog World. have no patience or use for shameless mags like them. Pretend to love dogs and take money from creeps like this. Please!

Yea, PETA is way Ok with the Ohio Pitbull Ban. We hate PETA.

Peta is misleading because people think that Peta supports being kind to animals, which they do but to extreme means. Peta is against people even having dogs or cats as pets.  They go to dog shows and release as many dogs from crates as they can, the dogs escape the buildings and get hurt, running into traffic and getting hit by cars.  It is crazy that their mentality to let dogs out of crates is what gets many of them killed.  "ethical"

some of their ideas about animal cruelty are right on.  animals that are raised for human consumption should be treated with the utmost respect and dignity.  they should be fed the best foods and housed in clean barns and sunny pastures.  they should be happy for whatever time they have here on earth before they are turned into food.  when that time comes it should be as quick and painless as humanly possible.  they should play soothing music and make sure that the animal is comfortable until the end.  after all the animal is giving his or her life to feed us greedy humans.  I just think that their ideals about setting all animals, every single one free to do as it wishes is insane.

FWIW, if you call 866 834 6061 and their recording answers, hang up and call back.  Every call you make is a billable call on their end - granted, your one call won't hurt their bottom line and I'm sure they're getting bulk-rate, but every call, as long as its answered by them, is a fee-call that they have to pay their provider for - not sure if  its rounded in 6, 15, 30 or full minute increments, but...

However, don't try blocking your calling party number - since they're paying the bill for the call, they will get your calling party number anyway and there's nothing you can do about it. 

Me, with the resources I have available...not that I would do anything like selective-call forwarding telemarketing calls to PETA or anything like that...

I don't really care for PETA. They threatend my aunt because she raises and breeds dauchounds(sp?)! She doesn't have a puppy mill. But that's what they acuse her of having.

Puppy mills and backyard breeders are two very different things...

Ok, but did you hear about their stunt with the breast milk? (Ick)  Asking Ben & Jerry's ice cream to use breast milk in thier production of ice cream.

Yes I heard that too about using the brest milk in ice cream  all I got to say is Eeewwwweeee.  I think when they first started out they made some good points and had some real good causes, but I really think they spend to much time going militant that they forgot what they actually used to stand for.  I mean sptay painting Mink coats,  emmm excuse me those minks are been dead and gone, how about protesting in frount of the farms that raise the minks???

I am not a PETA fan. I don't like their violent tactics and I don't approve of their radical behavior.
