It's so sad, I grew up in MT, where most animals aren't looked at as a part of the family, and are kept tied up outside, all day, winter through summer, with no love and attention. I used to complain about my neighbor dog to the police. It was pitiful how he lived everyday. It broke my heart seeing him everyday. |

Just like the people that had the litter of puppies my Keira came from. They dumped a litter of pups on the road in the country. It was dark out (5 am) and these pups could have been hit by cars or whatever. There weren't any houses close by. They were near a creek and fields. What makes a person decide that it's ok to dump these poor babies out to fend for themselves. How hard is it to at the very least, take them to a shelter and leave them? Or better yet, spay your dog, and keep it from happening. No, lets's just dump helpless animals out on the road and let whatever happens - happen. UGH! Sometimes it's true, dogs are better than people |

Sounds familiar... we've found 2 litters of puppys abandoned on the road near our cabin, out in the middle of nowhere... it angers me to the core. By pure luck, both stories have happy endings, but it's pure luck... its so sad, but not every puppy is so lucky. |

that is sad if someone has a dog/puppy that they do not want they should sell it and NOT abandon it |

Sorry, WackoJacko, I must disagree with your "they should sell it" statement.
I think more appropriately it should be said that they should "rehome" the dog. That means being a responsible human being and finding an appropriate home for the dog. One where the dog will be loved and well cared for.
Just "selling" a dog to the first Tom, Dick, or Harry is a great way for the dog to become bait for some dog-fighting @#$(*^(!$& operation.
Human's have a responsibility to care for dogs. Once you've accepted a dog, you have accepted the RESPONSIBILITY to provide for that dog. If you can't keep the dog, for whatever reason, your RESPONSIBILITY has not ended until you have properly rehomed the dog. That does not mean dumping the dog in a field or selling it to the first person who answers a classified ad. It means being RESPONSIBLE and finding a proper home for the dog.
Sorry to jump like this, I know that your heart is in the right place. But I just want to make it clear that the RESPONSIBILITY is to provide for the dog, not to make a quick buck selling an unwanted dog.
