You know what? I am so sensitive to sad dog stories that I cannot ever read about them. I know pretty much about Michael Vick, but do not read the details because I know it will make me sick. And if ANYONE is defending his behavior then that makes me sick, too. Last I heard, cruelty to animals is supposed to be a crime. I'm going to go give Cinnamon a hug and kiss now...

I will boycott his new show now too. He is trying to blame what Vick has done because of how they were raised and they use to watch dogs fighting in the streets. That is different than forcing them to fight for no reason other than to please their human. Oh I wish I had more time but I have to go to work.

I agree totally Crazydoglady, I just don't understand someone right now speaking in defense of Vick. Stupid. I read in the news paper that Vick's Dad had tried to get him to stop. If he was my son I would have turned him in and helped him to stop. The Dad even nursed some of the dogs back to health for his son and they had dog fights in his Dad's garage and now his is going to write a book (to make money) about the whole situation. I will not buy it!

Was wondering if it was a cultural thing to spray paint that kitten's eyes shut too?
Dang it, guess I just grew up boring. Dang my parents for teaching me compassion, respect, morals, ethics concerning all living things! How horrible they were!
Wow, I am just sick and tired of people not taking responsibilty for their own actions, blaming their environment and upbringing, so forth and so on....It's just out of control.
It's simple really, just care about things. We are not talking about brain surgery here. What is wrong is wrong.
Damn I am in a mood today huh? LOL

no you are not moody just pissed off like the rest of us! guess all of us on here actually care about animals huh? (lol...on our babies pics we write for them...guess that kind of gave it away) anywho... i have decided that all i can do about the dog fighting is just keep my eyes peeled for suspicious activity and just emphasize responsible pet ownership through my dog scout troop.
please pray for the pups who are fighting as we speak...pray for their deliverance!!

I also use to enjoy watching Jamie Foxx. I thought he was funny and when he made the jump to serious roles, he really showcased his talent. I also will add him to the list of people I will no longer watch.
"I didn’t know that was Fed time. So, Mike probably just didn’t read his handbook on what not to do as a black star.”
Ok, so it's only wrong knowing that it is a federal offense??? Does it really need to be listed in a "handbook"??? And as far as the cultural thing...I don't even want to go there!!!
I realize that that not all people hold dogs in the high esteem we do, but they are living breathing beings. They have thoughts and feel pain. Is it too much to expect people, whether celebrity or every day people, wealthy or poor, regardless of their culture and up bringing, to feel compassion and act in a humane way? And not just dogs, other animals as well. That kitten story made me sick and I think if they find the person responsible, they should have their eyes spray painted shut too!

Just to prove that animals have feelings and can respond to kindness here is a story that the Michale Vicks of this world need to read but then they wouldn't think much of it.
There was a Whale all tangled in all kinds of crab traps and rope and other such trash and was doomed if it was not helped so the guy that found him called in some Whale rescue people and the only thing they could think of to do was to dive in and start cutting off all the line that he was tangled in. Which was dangerous because if the Whale hit them with his tale it could kill them. Anyway after many hours of working they finally got it free of what it was tangled up in and the Whale swam around in what appeared to be circles of joy and then came back and nudged each one of the swimmers as if to say Thanks. The guy that was cutting the rope that was intangled in the Whale's mouth said that the eye of the Whale followed his every move. He also said he will never be the same again. The other divers said it was the most moving experience they have ever been a part of.

who ever is supporting michael vick needs some sense knocked into them....my dog was abused before we got her and because we rescued her she gives all the love she has.....i have seen what happens to dogs when they are fought like that because ik watch animal precient and those shows on animal planet and it makes me sick that some one could purposly hurt an animal....especially the way that michael vick did.....i saw on the news last night that when he plead guilty he said that he had a certain house just for dog fighting and he had 2 black sheds just for fighting the dogs and housing injured ones.....and alot of pit bulls are put down each year beacause of the fact that they came from some one who used them for dogfighting and they would of made great pets if they had not been fought and used like that.....it just makes me sick.
